Hi anyone

Can anybody give me some advice on how to get rid of my NEW clothes items.
I don't want to use ebay as their fees are terrible, and dont want to use sites online as i am tech useless.
Does anyone know off shops that i could take them too, or contact.
I have about £800 worth of designer clothes (New) and do not want my husband to know i am getting rid (Not him)

Thank you

could you use depop? very easy to use, you just get the app on your phone and take photos of the clothes, type in how much you want to sell for, and its done x

You need to search for pre-loved or nearly new shops in your area, most only deal with local people as you'll need to drop the stuff off which is usually by appointment. So no point me suggesting my local place here in the south, if you're up north!

I would say if you're concerned about fees, pre-loved shops offer probably the worst commission. My local one charges 50%, although for very expensive designer pieces (maybe £200+) she will agree a fee instead. Compared to eBay, which is 10% plus listing fee, which can only be £1 if you wait for one of their fairly frequent offers.

Also, the fact they are new is of little relevance if they are not sought after items, or the "right" label, so you might be surprised how little you are offered, it could well be less than 50% of the RRP before you've even deducted commission.

depop is easier than eBay, there seems to be less recourse for dodgy buyers wanting refunds, as items are sold as seen and that's it, but it seems to have a younger market, so unless your items will appeal, it might not be worth it.

What chasing says but google dress agencies too - same thing as 'pre loved' but probably longer established. My local one splits the takings 50-50. (She may negotiate in private but that's what she tells people). She's also very particular and will only accept items that are modern and that she thinks will sell.

Also if you have a local weekly / monthly second hand market go for a look round and approach any stalls that look promising. They vary a lot but there's one that I get to occasionally that has a stall selling very high end stuff.

Doubt any shops would take them, aside from charity shops of course. You certainly won’t be getting £800 for them.
