Summer equivalent of pencil skirt/wiggle dress

After much experimentation (40 odd years!), I’ve finally found my style! Pencil skirts/wiggle dresses, fitted silhouette. But how do I translate that to hot weather? I’m looking for a couple of bits for a week’s holiday in Greece - maybe something for a nice meal out on the one evening we have childcare!

I’m a 5’7, 14/16, huge norks, very curved back, with a ‘ducky bum’, so reverse S shape from the side, hourglass+ shape from the front. All the fitted clothes I look at just make me sweaty looking at them and thinking of 30 degree heat and yet all the wafty cool stuff I know will hang over bust and bum and make me look like I’m wearing a tent (marquee!).

I find it really difficult to buy dresses because the bust is never big enough and even if it is (bravissimo only) the waist is about an inch too high...

Help! Any ideas?

I like shift dresses. Airy and non+restrictive and can be dressed up or down with accessories. I’d go for linen or cotton for summer.

The White Company, White stuff and M&S all have linen dresses at the moment.

What about a stretchy tube skirt? Midi length. I had a beautiful baby and white striped one from DO that I wore to death! There’s normally loads at DP, New Look and occasionally gap.

I’m the same, and big busted, so I know what you mean about wanting things to hug your curves so you don’t look bigger than you are. But I’ve found that actually, in the summer you always end up looking better if you just dress for comfort. I see plenty of people who are much bigger than I am wearing floaty, wafty summer dresses - looking attractive, relaxed, elegant and put together - so I decided last year that if it was good enough for all of them it was good enough for me too, and that actually I was much harsher on myself than I needed to be.
