Anyone any experience with fillers?

Went for a consultation about tear trough fillers on Friday. Doctor said that because I am thin and have been thin all my life I have not got much fat in my face and actually doing a mid face cheek filler would be more likely to solve the issue I have with flatness around the eyes. I've never had fillers before and really can't make up my mind. My face and eye area really get me down and I look so much older than I am. But I feel like I don't know enough about it and not sure where to look for trustworthy information! Any help or advice?

Voluma is £350 where I go. One syringe will really not do much. A syringe in each cheek is needed to make a difference and even then it's only a slight one. But that's the idea I suppose. You don't want to look done just lifted and fresher

its a waste of money. Expensive, lasts weeks, and other people notice it even less than you, which is not much already.
Honestly, get a nice lipstick and do your hair. You cannot fix ageing. This is a slippery slope and you probably look absolutely fine and beautiful as you are.

Appreciate all this info, thanks everyone. As it wears off do you just go back to your "original" face- if that's the right way to describe it?!

yes

twinklebee · 13/07/2019 09:03

Thanks @Branleuse, that's kind of you. I just don't feel beautiful in the slightest! In my case it's less about ageing as I'm 26 but have had this issue since I was about 18. My face is just so gaunt. I appreciate fillers may not be the best course of action and I am nervous about it but it gets me down so much I'm thinking I should give it a go

I have had lip fillers a few times in the past, but haven’t had any more in the years since so the product has long dissolved.

My lips never returned to their original state, but I don’t mind as they look better now. They’re now ever so slightly plumper and my top lip is in a more flattering shape (albeit my lips are still small and lack volume - the filler has absolutely gone)

When ive been thin in the past I get a gaunt face too. First place I lose weight from.
I found putting on a little weight did my face wonders. They do say at some point you need to choose between face or arse

Agree on juvaderm voluma. I didn’t like profhilo - v expensive, painful and didn’t last

Eleanorsummer · 13/07/2019 10:07

Definitely try mid face filler first as this support the under eye area. Usually having mid face filler will mean you won't need tear trough filler too. Depends how much of a correction you want too. Some people will have it even though it would only make a slight improvement after mid face filler.

DidUReallyJustSayThat · 13/07/2019 10:58

@BlackSwan oooo really I have heard Profhilo is supposed to be good? It was next on my list to try!

princessTiasmum · 13/07/2019 12:59

should say 45 minutes

I love profhilo but it is expensive and painful.
