For anyone that is thinking about getting this done, go for it!

They have changed my life, takes no time at all putting my make up on.

I hate eyebrows. I have a fringe so I can’t see them. 😂😂

BenWillbondsPants · 06/07/2019 20:42

Can you explain powder brows please this is a new one on me - how do they do it and is it expensive? Can they so various degrees of 'naturalness'?

HermioneWeasley · 06/07/2019 21:55

I have to draw my eyebrows on every day - tell me more

Myheartbelongsto · 06/07/2019 23:19

@HermioneWeasley what do you want to know? :)

I had no eyebrows before this, had lost all of the hair, just a small bit but gone from the arch and was absolutely fed up of drawing them ob=n everyday. Some days they were amazing but mostly not. Now I can get ready in half the time and I'm much more willing to get ready and go out as I'm not dreading doing my eyebrows.

I had got to the stage where I didn't want people looking me in the face when they were talking to me and I was keeping my head down a bit.

@Myheartbelongsto

Do you know why your brows fell out?

HermioneWeasley · 07/07/2019 11:07

@Myheartbelongsto, I don’t know anything about this. I gather it’s a semi permanent eyebrow thing. Is it painful? How long did it take to get done? Can you vary the results? How much did it cost? How did you find your person?

Rivkka · 07/07/2019 11:10

I've not seen the comments on AIBU but all of your eyebrows on here are lovely.

Myheartbelongsto · 07/07/2019 12:24

@smashamasha I just never really had any eyebrow hair, although I was dark haired as a child they were very light and well when the 90's came along I didn't stand a chance.

@HermioneWeasley it's semi permanent yes, not painful, feels like a little scratch really, she did a couple of strokes and by the time I felt it she moved on to another area. Took her about 2 hours inc consultation, yep you can vary the results, can have a much softer look, cost me €300, the results will vary, will last up to a year but with top ups much longer. 2 years for the actual tattoo to fade but it's actually much quicker than that. Found my person as I know girls that have been to her and her work is amazing. I looked at loads, spoke to loads then settled with the one who's work I'd actually seen in real life rather than in pics. I also contacted some of her customers via her Facebook page and spoke to them directly and they were more than helpful and happy to talk to me.

They look great. Am seriously thinking of getting mine done and have read they’re a good choice for older skin. Not sure where to start looking for someone good in my area.

GreyHare · 07/07/2019 14:38

I know that joyous feeling, one of my eyebrow just fell out and I could never draw them on, so I had them micro-bladed and now I have two eyebrows and the confidence it gave me back was so worth the healing process.

Eyebrows seem to cause an odd reaction for some on mumsnet, they almost foam at the mouth with the ridicule and hatred they will throw at you for daring to do something with them.

KatharinaRosalie · 08/07/2019 12:36

The girl who did my brows also does hairstroke tattoo, which looks more like microblading. But as my eyebrows were barely there, she recommended the powder technique. As I have oily skin, they said microblading will fade and tattoo is a better option.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2019 12:39

they look so natural

I would disagree.

However, if you are happy that is all that counts really!

Soola · 08/07/2019 13:11

I dye my eyebrows at home.

Black was great when I had dark hair but now I have much lighter hair which is a light ash and no red tones. I found that all brown dyes either had a red tinge or faded ginger.

But I found a great grey dye and it looks fab! So easy to use.

It’s this one but you can buy one by etc as well -

www.amazon.co.uk/APRAISE-PROFESSIONAL-EYELASH-EYEBROW-No-1-1/dp/B01347UPTQ/ref=asc_df_B01347UPTQ/?hvlocphy=9045406&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&psc=1&hvnetw=g&hvadid=310817340924&hvpone&hvlocint&hvpos=1o10&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&hvtargid=pla-698433856744&hvrand=15427949562535224138

You need a developer and I use one by Mylee.

You can buy the kits on eBay that contain the tiny and a developer.

It dyes all the twenty tiny hairs that are not visible unless you look in a magnifying mirror and this gives you lovely looking full eyebrows as thick or as thin as you like.

Whoops75 · 08/07/2019 13:15

Beautiful brows ladies

Im going to save and do this.

KatharinaRosalie · 08/07/2019 14:08

they look so natural.
I would disagree

I don't think the ones I had to pencil in every morning looked all that natural either. Yes I'm sure it would be best to grow my own perfect and thick eyebrows, but that does not always work for everybody.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2019 14:57

No shit Sherlock.

You'll notice I also said "if you are happy that is all that counts really!" but feel free to ignore that.

minipie · 08/07/2019 15:02

Katharina yours look good - what is the name of it please, are yours also powder brow?

KatharinaRosalie · 08/07/2019 15:12

minipie I'm not sure if powderbrow is a trademark or anything, for mine they called it semi permament make up in powder technique. So probably same or similar.

SoupDragon the statement 'as long as you're happy' always comes with an unsaid (or said) "but..."
I am happy though. Saves so much time and nobody in real life as pointed and laughed yet.

SoupDragon · 08/07/2019 15:28

the statement 'as long as you're happy' always comes with an unsaid (or said) "but..."

No it doesn't. Unless you think you know what I meant better than i do which seems unlikely.
