Hair dying first greys, confused and bemused!

Help!

I have been noticing more and more grey hairs in my mousey brown hair and it's getting to a point where I need to accept them or do something!

I don't feel ready to go grey yet (in my early 30s) but don't want a lot of maintenance to keep up with.
I take a lot of (unavoidable) drugs that affects my hair and it is quite thin because of this (and naturally fine).

Can I dye my hair a light blondy brown to cover the greys but not affect my natural hair colour too much? so that the greys become kind of low lights?

Should I use semi-permanent? I have read that repeated permanent hair colour makes the ends (that get repeatedly dyed) go odd colours?

I have never dyed my hair before and feel a bit nervous, I can't afford regular trips to the hairdressers so would like a DIY solution...

Any advice?

Forgot to mention that I wash my hair every day (as it's fine it gets greasy quickly) so ideally want something I won't need to redo every week, would semi-permanent last very long? I just don't think I want the maintenance of touching up roots with permanent hair dye (and I don't really have enough grey yet to fully need it...

Any suggestions for natural hair dye or something in a shampoo that I can use daily to build up the colour, like just for men!

Hi I put semi permanent through mine and it lasts quite a long time just fades a bit (mine actually goes lighter) but still covers any grey - choose a shade slightly lighter than u think you’ll need

If it was me I would have highlights put in to disguise they grey. You can buy highlight kits from chemists and get a friend to do it

If it's bothering you, i would just start colouring it. I'm 26 and I've been getting a lot of grey hairs over the last couple of years. It doesn't bother me because my partner owns a salon so hair colour isn't a stranger too me. It's the thinning that bothers me. You can also buy coloured hair mousse and coloured hair spray. I'm not sure what the grey coverage would be like but it's always worth a shot of you want to try something before colouring. X

Thank you for those suggestions, I'm thinking about home highlights with something like the Loreal Preference kit now, it looks like it would disguise the level of grey I have.

If it doesn't work I will go down the semi-permanent route to dip my toe into the dying world!

I would just go to a salon to get half head highlights around £50
Its cheaper than if your home hair colouring goes wrong and the price of trying to correct it after. ( talking from experience)
Or go in or ring up a salon and ask what they'd suggest, then also the price. So you have wieghed up your options. Good luck whatever you decide.
