Hi all, as I'm getting older my once straight hair is getting curly but although the curls are Ok my hair is frizzy. I feel I need something to take the frizz and smooth it out. I have tried a few products but was wondering if anyone can recommend something I could use once hair has dried to tame it as opposed to using on damp hair? Or if you have any advice I would appreciate it

Frizz is a reflection of condition I find, an amazing alcohol free leave in conditioner and no or less heat helps loads

Inliverpool can you suggest a leave in conditioner? Thanks

Have a go with curly girl method. This is a really good blog post about how it works.

Try Cantu shea butter products, the 'curl activator cream' is incredible. I used to use L'Oréal kerastase range, but I've found cantu better and much cheaper. My hairdressers specialises in curly hair and this is what they recommended to me. I look like Hagrid without it

Redken Frizz Dismiss, the cream nit the spray.

I’ve been using the Aunt Jackie products from the USA, found them in TK Maxx. My unruly mop is transformed!

Cantu is brilliant.

I also use Mixed Chicks, Curls Unleashed and ORS Olive oil brands. All from our large Boots although mixed chicks has vanished lately Sad.

I thought they were expensive to start with but I've saved a fortune because I no longer need a tonne of conditioner every day.

Curly girl method. Use products that are sulphate/silicone/alcohol free. Drench your hair when you are squishing in conditioner and put product onto soaking wet hair. Experiment with using more product than you might have previously used before - Boucleme gel is a good one - and while your hair is drying DONT TOUCH IT! Then use a small amount of CG approved oil on your hands to crunch out your hair when it’s dry to loosen the locks. There’s several FB groups Eg Curly Girl Support Group that list approved products and techniques.
