Cracked Heels

WinterWillow · 02/07/2019 16:02

I work as an events planner and as such most of my time is spent on my feet, which has left me with terribly dry and cracked heels.

I have a wedding and family holiday coming up at the end of the month and I'd really like to get this sorted so that I can feel my best.

Any suggestions on the best product to use? Ideally I'd like something that's fast acting and that doesn't break the bank!

Thank You

Okay totally fascinated now, how do you prepare the nail????

Madbengalmum · 04/07/2019 16:20

Blithering, I would do that with a podiatry drill and ceramics in order to get to the nail bed in order to treat. It is painless and an excellent way to get the nail prepared, and looking even.

I am obsessed with keeping my feet smooth.

My creams of choice - for everyday, Soap & Glory Heel Genius. For hardcore moisturising a couple of times a week - Weleda Skin Food. The latter is quite sticky - I have a couple of those washable spa type slippers that I wear when it is absorbing. (The Skin Food always comes on holidays with us. Me and the DH agree it is a sole reviver when you have been on your feet all day.)

Before the Skin Food a couple of times a week I will use a Ped Egg which is good at grating off the hard skin that builds up on sides of my big toes (seems to be my worse place). Then I use Dr Scholl Velvet Touch battery operated contraption to smooth.

I also have a Margaret Dabbs foot file to use when I can't be bothered with the Ped Egg/Velvet Touch regime. That is excellent. Expensive but you get spare sandpaper stuff.

The Newton Chiropody Sponges were good, but messy, so I no longer use them and prefer the products above.

@madbengalmum thank you! Googling foot specialists...

Madbengalmum · 04/07/2019 19:25

Emma, happy to help.

Newton Sponge. Instant results..

myidentitymycrisis · 04/07/2019 22:25

I use a blade after a bath. Then file to smoothe and moisturise every day.
The Newton’s doesn’t do much for me

@Oceanbliss I tend to always wear closed heel shoes, and still suffer. I think it has a lot to do with being almost always on my feet.

I'm off to Superdrug tomorrow to try some Flexitol! Hopefully I'll have smooth feet in no time.

Good luck WinterWillow. I hope it works for you Smile

HappyLoneParentDay · 05/07/2019 00:50

Put these on over your heels (pref after applying Flexitol) and honestly - problem solved!
