Help me with beauty and style

I have never been one for Make up, beauty or up to date styling, however my new job requires both of them and I have no idea where to start! My hair is the only thing I am happy with!
Any suggestions where to start?

First stop I would hit a department store make up counter and get them to try different styles and colours of makeup on you. If you're not used to wearing much I'd recommend Bobbi Brown. You can then buy what you need and you should get a little lesson on how to use them.

Clothes wise - what will you need to wear? Smart casual/ corporate wear etc? Pick a few basics that flatter your shape and then mix and match colours with tops and a accessories. I have a capsule wardrobe for work and so it all goes together and give me little "rules" for shopping.

You could make an appointment with a personal shopper in a department store. They would talk to you about what you want to achieve, budget, likes & dislikes etc and then bring you a selection of items to try on. There's no obligation to buy, either. Could be a great learning experience.

I honestly feel like I need make lesson, as when I have had other people do it in the past, it looks so much better than I do it! I normally buy all my stuff from primark or new look, so I need some more stylish clothes!

Anyone have any suggestions on good make up? I have been using Clinique foundation, but not keen on it!

I wear Huda Beauty but I like full coverage which isn't for everyone. Bobbi Brown is good for more subtle. Mac isn't too bad depending on what look you like.

Thanks @Snipples I am going to try both MAC and Bobbi brown!

I go for regular style updates with a John Lewis fashion adviser. It is a feee service with no obligation to buy. I do quite often buy things but as well once I have found out what new shapes and styles suit me I can often find something very similar in less expensive stores. For instance I once bought a Hobbs long sleeved t-shirt after a style session. It was lovely and I still wear it but it cost about £25. I now buy t shirts in Primark that are so identical in weight, cut and finish I am sure they must be made in the same factory but they cost about £3.50.

I’d recommend Styled by Susie. You send her photos (selfies in natural light, photos showing your silhouette) & they do a colour & style analysis for you. I’ve just had my colours done so far. They are on Instagram & have a huge following on Facebook. It’s not expensive either - analysis starts at £30
