Best light blonde Home hair dye

My hair is naturally very light brown and I've been getting it lightened at the hair dressers for a long time. I haven't had the spare cash to pay to have it done professionally lately and my roots are getting really bad. Can anyone recommend a good hair dye I can use at home to get my roots from light brown to light blonde? Thank you

I really like the Nice and Easy box dyes, I've tried loads of brands and this is my favourite by far. I get the lightest ash blonde.

Thank you I will have a look at that one, I've had ash colours turn my hair a bit greyish in the past so I'm a bit wary. Is it quite a light ash blonde?

My hairs a sort of cool toned light blonde so would like the roots to be similar if possible but I'm worried if the dye isn't strong enough I'll just end up with yellow/orangey roots.

Nice and easy in baby blonde is lovely,if you want a light blonde

If you get it lightened at the salon, I assume that they are lifting your hair from light brown to blonde with bleach?

So the difference here is that you’re going to try to do the same thing with an actual colour, tint doesn’t have the same lightening effect as bleach so you may run the risk of having brassy roots unfortunately.

I use B Blonde power bleach (you can buy either 1 sachet with the required cream to mix or a box of 4/5 sachets and buy the cream mix separately as and when required). I then use a B Blonde toner to remove the yellow from my hair. They do various shades such as silver, atomic blonde, platinum blonde etc.

A good dose of conditioner once week after silver shampoo and my diy job lasts around 3/4 weeks but I have dark roots so you might last longer!

Powder with cream = £5 approx
4/5 sachets = £4 approx
Cream mixer = £1.5 approx
Toners = £5 approx

Often on offer in home bargains and Superdrug.

One of the Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde ones, my hair is naturally a lot darker than yours and they lifted my hair perfectly every time with no orange/brassiness and no green.

Plus they made my hair so soft and glossy, by far and away the best blonde box dye I've ever used, and I'm an expat so I've been trying box blonde dyes all over the world Grin

They're not as cheap in the UK as they were when we lived in Germany (I miss Germany, food, people and the beauty/cosmetics were amazing) or at least they weren't when we were back in the UK a while ago. They don't sell the Nordic Blonde range where we live now so I make do mixing my own from the beauty supplier.

Also, have a watch of some of the "how to touch up your roots at home" tutorials on YouTube. Personally to make sure I don't have a line of slightly different colour between hair and roots (and that only happens if I've left it too long to do my roots) I put the bleach/dye/whatever I'm using on my roots for the recommended time, then five minutes before the end I use a tinting brush to brush more of the mixture through the ends in DIY balayage style (again, loads of tutorials on YouTube for this).

It gives a lovely blend of light tones and really makes your hair look vibrant.

I keep misreading this title as ‘Best light blonde Horse hair dye’ and thinking dressage must have got very fancy...

I'd like to know this too. I get Clairol light ash blond but it always goes a bit orange.

I asked my hairdresser about this and she said I wasn't leaving it on long enough, I do 20 mins but she said I must follow the advice on the packet. It still goes a bit orange.

My normal hair colour is dark blond.

REad up on MAjirel on here and use 30 vol creme peroxide to achieve the level of lift you need. Shop bought ones don’t have the level required-so look brassy.

This one. It worked on my Vietnamese best friend's hair too when we decided it would be fun after a bit too much Wine Blush Grin

Thank you so much loads to look into here

I had a quick look at the majirel and that looks quite good so may try that and see how it turns out.

I definitely need to read up and watch a few tutorials, have roped dp into helping me do the back so that should make it a bit easier.
