Dyeing over lush henna?

Has anyone had any success doing this?

I have had Lush Caca Brun on there around a month ago but it's faded and my greys look really bad!

Went to the hairdresser to get an organic dye put in and she refused to do it saying something about metallic salts... and my hair dissolving 😳

Have googled this & apparently Lush henna does not contain metalic salts. So, would this be ok?
What's the worst that could happen?
I just want to go brunette....

Pure henna doesn't contain metallic salts, I use the powder but I think the only other ingredient in Lush henna is cocoa butter so you should be fine.

I used the caca rouge a couple of years ago and just didn't tell the hairdresser that it was henna when I started going lighter, my hair was fine.

Thanks! Actually thought this hairdresser was a bit rude as well. Will go somewhere else 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rude is understandable if they've ever seen the effect of somebody sticking a box dye over Henna or some of the other vegetable dyes.

I used lush henna on my hair for a while and most hairdressers were reluctant to dye over it. My results have been patchy due to the henna

My hairdresser did a patch test before she died my hair and she did say that the hair could dissolve who is why she wanted to do the test.

So the thing she said about the henna was the mineral salts reacting.
I've read that the lush henna does not contain these.
Does anyone know specifically about this particular product?

Why is rude understandable if you are speaking to a customer 🤷🏻‍♀️Hmm

I've used the lush hennas (rouge, marron and brun over the years) and no they do not contain metallic salts.
I have dyed over then with standard box dyes. Your hair won't dissolve, but you may get a patchy result, so be prepared for that.
