So I don't really know if this is under the correct topic... but hey ho!

I have quite dark armpits and I hate it!!!

Has anyone else, and if so have you lightened then some how??

I need some magical cream or something!! I don't like wearing strappy tops or dresses because of it!

Thank you xx

Could it be Acanthosis nigricans? Its caused by hormonal imbalances and insulin resistance. If so cutting out wheat and sugar from your diet can help as well as speaking to your doctor about any underlying hormonal issues

By coincidence, I’ve just listened to the latest episode of The Beauty Brains podcast dated 24th June called ‘Natural Ingredients for Hair and skin - what works’ Episode 187. The link it’s not on their website yet so can’t give you a direct link but you can search on Podcasts. One of the topics they covered was dark armpits looking at 5 possible causes. It might help you identify the cause which should help look for a solution.
I’m sorry this makes you so unhappy and I personally don’t have knowledge on this subject but I do hope the podcast will give you some direction.

Depends on why they are dark really? Eg I used to have this problem when I shaved, but since switching to waxing my underarms are back to their normal colour. What method of hair removal do you use?

If it’s just due to genetics then not much can be done really. You can make sure you exfoliate and moisturise often to keep your skin as healthy as possible, it may help to slightly even out any blemishes/ingrown hairs/uneven marks etc. You can try to use a non greasy SPF (overnight perhaps?) to fade a suntan and prevent a sun tan

Also speak to your GP, it may be symptom of an underlying issue as a PP suggested
