Ingrown hairs on bikini line

My daughter is really struggling with ingrown hairs on her bikini line. She's stopped waxing and has switched to shaving (in the direction of hair growth) and exfoliating and using bio oil but it just doesn't seem to be getting any better. She's also swapped her skinny jeans for looser fit trousers and skirts to get the air circulating around there!

With the prospect of a summer covering up, it's really sapping her confidence Could anyone offer any advice please?

Stop shaving for a while. She should put sudocreme and a hydrocortisone ointment on it to help it heal. Pfb vanish is great for ingrown hairs. It has a roll on top like a deodorant. It’s quite strong so only use at night. Hope she feels more comfortable soon. I had terrible ingrownA and this routine helped me

Tendskin liquid is marvellous stuff. Order it online at Boots or Amazon.

I feel her pain. I'm very dark and suffered like this for tears.

I think she needs to let it calm down - there has never been a better time to not shave for a bit! Like others I would also suggest a glycolic toner over the area for exfoliation.

I have found that using a hair removal cream is far, far better for me. The only time I use a razor on the area is on holiday and even for that short period it gets sore. I have also used a Lumea and a Smoothskin laser device.

Personally I would recommend the Smoothskin over the Lumea but there's probably loads of info on Mumsnet about them both.

I also had laser treatment at a clinic many years ago. I wouldn't personally recommend this. It was very expensive in comparison to buying a Lumea, painful and as I have PCOS the results were short lived.

Superdrug do a glycolic toner that should help.

Please do not use glycolic acid. It’s far too Strong to use on skin that is this irritated. Trust me I’ve been there. She’ll end up with a chemical burn
