Slightly shitting myself due to the price.

How are people getting on with it?

Really pleased I bought it.

I got mine via QVC as they let you try for a month and have a no quibble return.

I paid in full but you can pay in instalments if you prefer.

I got the one with the stand and then sold the stand so that my supersonic actually cost me less than everywhere else.

I wasn’t keen on the bright colours either so am glad I bought it that way.

It’s excellent, so easy to use and lightweight.

I don’t like using hair straighteners and it blow drys my hair very sleek with little effort or I use the diffuser and scrunch my hair if I want a more tousled wave look.

I can also hold a conversation with my husband as it’s fairly quiet.

sneakypinky · 24/06/2019 16:35

God I hope it's worth it on my hair! I've read loads of reviews and they seem to be 95% amazing, 5% rubbish. I'd better not be in the 5%.

As I’ve got older my hair has increased in volume so I now have a lot more of it and it’s long so I like that it’s lightweight but powerful.

AliceRR · 24/06/2019 16:47

I’m thinking about getting this later I’m the week so would be interested to know how you get on with it!

BlythesEyes · 24/06/2019 16:54

Amazing...I love mine. Fast drying, quiet and I wouldn't be without it.

AliceRR · 24/06/2019 17:37

I think it is worth it from what I’ve read. If it’s faster, quieter and damages your hair less then should be worth it 🤷🏻‍♀️

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 24/06/2019 17:54

I'm in the 5% and have reverted back to parlux. It's currently gathering dust in my Mums spare room Confused

sneakypinky · 24/06/2019 18:04

@MumOfTwoMasterOfNone Noooooo how come? I currently use a parlux.

OP posts:
AliceRR · 24/06/2019 18:33

What didn’t you like about it? @MumOfTwoMasterOfNone

Have you got yours OP or have you ordered online and waiting for it to arrive?

Inliverpool1 · 24/06/2019 18:47

@MumOfTwoMasterOfNone would you sell it ?

katseyes7 · 24/06/2019 18:51

l got mine from QVC too (in instalments) and it's amazing. My hair's past shoulder length and l can dry it in a tv ad break.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 24/06/2019 19:00

I don't think it suits my hair type (curly and thick). It took longer to dry and I just don't think it did it as well as the parlux. I do agree that it doesn't damage hair as much as traditional drying and I loved how light it was.
@Inliverpool1 possibly yes, but my plan was to use it as the worlds most expensive travel hairdryer Grin

AliceRR · 24/06/2019 19:18

@MumOfTwoMasterOfNone That’s interesting as I have curly hair. Were you diffusing or blow drying your hair straight IYDMMA? I need a hair dryer I can do both with.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 24/06/2019 19:20

Blow drying straight. I've never got on with diffusing. I tried it with the dyson and it was awful, but I think that's me rather than the dyson Blush

AliceRR · 24/06/2019 19:28

It is hard to blow dry hair straight tbh @MumOfTwoMasterOfNone. I’ve only ever been able to do it roughly with a hair dryer but got a Remington thingy, one of those big brushes that dries and spins, and gives me a straight smooth salon looking blow dry. I recommend it. Cost about £15 and easier than blow drying. Hence I was also considering the air styler. But for curly hair I like to diffuse (sometimes, not all the time) and have read Dyson does less damage and leaves hair shiny etc.

sneakypinky · 24/06/2019 19:48

Ooh I have thin straggly fly away hair, not long curly hair. Maybe it will be ok for me.

OP posts:
redglobox · 24/06/2019 19:53

I think it is so overpriced for what it is. It’s nice but not special enough to warrant the stupid price tag. I got one after my hairdresser did and the she stopped using hers because the filter kept getting clogged.

sneakypinky · 25/06/2019 12:43

It's arrived!

OP posts:
AliceRR · 25/06/2019 13:54

🥳 Let us know how you get on OP!

sneakypinky · 25/06/2019 14:24

From reading some advice it seems people are saying their hair goes straw like when the have full power and heat, so I'm going to go in with low heat med power.

I'll report back.

Hope DFiancee doesn't google the price. 🤫

OP posts:
il0vew1ne · 25/06/2019 14:37

my hubby bought it me for Christmas, it made my hair so frizzy and dry and like straw
I gave it to my daughter in law she has long hair and likes it. Mine was short.
Think it was too strong for my hair even on the lowest setting

AliceRR · 25/06/2019 15:06

Oh gosh I’d never heard of it leaving hair like straw before

AliceRR · 27/06/2019 21:51

I got mine today too! Told DH it “only” cost £200

Branster · 27/06/2019 23:17

I’ve had mine for a year and a half and it works great for my type of hair (straight, long, coloured). I needed less hair trims since using it so I assume it doesn’t damage the hair as much as all my previous hairdryers. I use it on full power for maybe 4 minutes separating sections with my fingers until Hair is almost dry, then a blast of cold air then leave hair to dry naturally for the next 10 minutes (I have no patience for anything longer than that). No styling products just final brush when it’s dry and hair is looks smooth and for some reason brighter. I probably use it once or twice a week otherwise I let my hair dry on its own. Hair definitely looks better (sleek) when I use this hairdryer even with such a minimal process. I only use the bigger nozzle (smoothing) and couldn’t figure out if the diffuser did anything for me so I got rid of all other accessories and bag apart from the silicone mat.
However, it might not be as good on other types of hair.
I detest the pink detail on it but at the time I got mine that was the only option available and the only thing nearing to a deal back then was getting £30 worth of Boots points with my purchase - I’ve never seen it on sale anywhere.
I do love the fact it has a long cable, very very useful if your socket is far away or if you are tall. I also like it because it is lightweight and not as noisy as normal hairdryers.
It does make my hair look smoother and it is incredibly fast.
However, I wouldn’t say it’s the best money ever spent because I think it is over-priced. If anyone is at a loss what to do with some spare £300, I’d say get a Lumea instead - now that would be money well spent ( I have Boots own IPL machine bought years ago when Lumea was not as well known, and if that was so brilliant, then the current Lumea models are a dream come true).
