I need a new hairdryer (with diffuser - curly hair)

Just that. I have naturally curly hair which I wear mostly curly these days. If I blow dry it then I use a diffuser. The hair dryer I was using was a fairly cheap one but has just broken.

When having my hair straight I use the Remington keratin and protect (something like that) styler which is one of those big brushes which spins and styles as it dries - highly recommend that btw - it’s great for volume and blow dries my curly hair smooth in a way only a professional could.

So I need a hairdryer for when I have my hair curly. I’ve thought about the Dyson but only really willing to pay that amount if it’s worth it and does something well over and above what another dryer does. GHD? Or is that just like any “normal” dryer? Or I could just pay £30 and get something that does the job like the one I was using before.

🤷🏻‍♀️

TIA

I use a Dyson with a diffuser and I do prefer it to my previous bog standard hairdryer, although I'm not sure it is really worth 300 pounds Grin

I like the different style and weight of the handle and it does take less time to dry my hair. It is noisy though, at first I thought it was too noisy, although I've got used to it now. The air flow is completely different to a normal hairdryer, in a good way.

Thanks all

I think I’m sold on a dyson now but just did some googling and found you can get a diffuser and put it on the air wrap so wondering whether to get the airwrap and a diffuser so then I can use it to style and straighten my hair as well 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔 This is just getting more and more pricey 🙈

I have an airwrap too. Not as great as I was hoping, i still prefer the look of my hair when I dry it quickly/ roughly and then use fat tongs to curl it. That way I get waves all the way down the length of my hair. The airwrap takes much longer to dry the hair, as you can only use small sections of hair at a time (I do have a lot of hair though, would be quicker on fine hair), and when the curl drops, it leaves curls at the ends, not waves all the way down (hope that makes sense!)

I don't particularly rate the dyson hairdryer much higher than the parlux, except when it comes to the diffuser, and then it really comes in to its own, there are no comparable results.

@321zerobaby Thank you. It’s really helpful you have all three products I’m thinking of buying! I read a few reviews and thought, especially since I need a hairdryer as mine has broken, I’d be best off getting the Dyson hair dryer as I read that the drying attachment on the airwrap isn’t as good. Plus I would be using it mostly with my hair curly so need the diffuser 🤷🏻‍♀️

@AliceRR A diffuser with the airwrap would be a great idea. There are 2 different arwraps though, you need to look at the tools and decide which would be more useful to you.

I’ve decided on the dryer as it is a hair drive r that I’m after (mine having broken) and I’ve read that the air wrap isn’t as effective as a dryer. Most of the time I expect I would just use it with the diffuser anyway
