Get a WetBrush. Brilliant product

None I'm afraid but try silk pillowcases afterwards to stop it happening again. Good luck.

Second silk pillowcase (or silk scarf tied around a pillow), Aussie hair oil on wet and dry hair, blow drying and plaiting before bed every night.

We use Aussie spray in conditioner and a tangle teaser. Her hair is normally always braided (different styles) even at bedtime to stop tangles.

I also found using normal adult shampoo and conditioner helped with preventing tangles and using a deep conditioner occasionally will help too.

Hair oil is good for detangling

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 22/06/2019 17:47

As a quick fix right now I would rinse it through, cover in copious amounts of conditioner, leave for 10/15 minutes, brush using a wide tooth comb (if you have one) and then brush it when you're rinsing the conditioner out. Brush it to dry and then braid it.
After today, silk pillows and a tangle comb as suggested by pp.

Brush it to dry means continue brushing while blow drying.

Loads of conditioner and then gently comb it through (starting at the tips and working you way up to the scalp).
If it's really bad I would consider cutting out the chucks of matted areas (this depends on your daughters hair type - much more easy to get away with if it's curly)
I cut out areas of my dogs fur if I've neglected the grooming and she gets clumped areas under her armpits etc, much better than spending hours trying to brush it out as it would get sore for the dog.
(I know your daughter is not an animal...but I'm sure she won't like having her hair pulled at too much either!)

Once un-tagged make sure you plait the hair or tie it in bunched etc to keep it tangle free for a while

Brush conditioner through in the bath. Keep in a bun and brush as often as possible. Hair oil is great too

Thank you. It's a one-of as Shes been walking all day in breezy weather. I'll give the hair oil a try.
