Best treatment for sun damaged skin?

Just that really. Aged 47 and rather freckly and pigmented with an uneven skin tone. Is there any hope of repair or is it is just too late? Also my nose gets red with heat or cold and I have very dark under eye circles! Is there a treatment and or foundation to even it all out a bit?

Yep, loads of stuff you can do.

Tretinoin and hydroquinone is best but you will spend a good few weeks dry and peeling. Obagi best in my opinion.

A Vitamin c and retinol regime would also help but not as fast or effective as above.

Lasers and peels.

Acid toners, like glycolic. Alpha h and Paula's choice are good places to start.

Wear a SPF 50 every day to prevent further damage

Thank you so much! I might go for the slow and steady approach.

Nah, go tret and hydroquinone! It'll make your face fall off but push through it for 3 months and you'll have skin like glass!!

Sounds alarming and a bit intriguing! I will research.

I had great results with lasers (including IPL). It darkens the pigment then it just falls off. Also stimulates collagen production.

Agree also with tretinoin but you could start with an over the counter retinol and build up slowly. A good SPF every day, factor 50 and ultra UVA.

The IPL part of the laser also helps with redness.

Be aware of lasers OP. It made my pigmentation marks worse. I agree that hydroquinone and tretinoin works really well! You need to be dedicated to the regime though, it is worth it,

Yes, definitely Tretinoin. I've just got a prescription for it from the Dr (I'm not in the UK) and am starting it on Tuesday when I can get to the pharmacy.

What finally convinced me was the post and updates on the Hot and Flashy blog, what a difference!!!!

I've seen the same results on friends who've been using it for a couple of years too.
