Is it any good?

Keep seeing lovely stuff on their ads but not sure if the quality is poor.

A colleague has just got her first order, she was really pleased with the quality. I just need to get my head around the sizing before I order.

Don’t you think, at those prices, who is making the clothes, and in what conditions?

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 21/06/2019 20:23

I’ve been pleased with what I’ve ordered, and I’ve returned something I’ve not liked and it’s all gone smoothly. Regarding the prices/conditions, I assume it’s the same stuff that’s in the shops here, only you’re paying the manufacturer’s price rather than the markup you would pay if you bought the same in New Look, for example. It’s not outrageously cheap, or noticeably poor quality.

@swiftier I get your point, but I don't understand why it's the responsibility of the consumer when the governments allow the sale of such items. Consumers will always pick good value. I'm not saying we shouldn't be mindful of ethics but shouldn't the government be doing more?

Swiftier · 21/06/2019 21:32

@Itellpeopletogoogleit yes governments and big business could do more. But that doesn’t mean we as consumers shouldn’t also try and do more - by avoiding buying from these cheap, poor quality, fast fashion companies.

Aside from the human concerns, fast fashion is massively damaging to the environment.

I just find it surprising that people aren’t more aware of this, don’t consider this.

My personal goal is to donate to and buy from charity shops as much as possible. Not Oxfam though.
We need to recycle.
At the same time though, the people who make these cheap clothes will starve without alternative employment.
