I'm having chemo just now and my eyebrows are getting very sparse. I would like to help them out a bit but still want a natural look. I'm 52 and I don't like the dark heavy brow look but need some definition.

I don't get on with Wonderbrow at all, it looks too blocky on me, can anyone suggest an alternative please?

I've been using Rapidbrow for two months now and it's fantastic. It's a clear brow gel that you apply twice a day. Nothing seemed to happen for about 6 weeks but now my brows are getting so thick. They had been getting sparse and I hadn't plucked one hair in over eighteen months. Now I definitely need to get them threaded into shape.

I think that may work really well for after chemo, but as it attacks the hair follicles I'm not sure it would help during if you know what I mean? Thanks for the tip though, it sounds like it would be a great option to hurry them into their former glory when I'm finished!

Have you tried any of the benefit brow products? There is a powder one that my mum used during chemo and if she could be bothered, one of the mascara type ones over the top to bulk out any remaining hairs.

If your brows go completely, you can get a stencil to use as a guide. We bought some hair stick on one's but in all honestly they were terrible. But trying them on was the most laughter we had had in ages - they looked like mice.

The other thing mum found that helped was defining her eyes, it seems to distract from the brows a bit.

Revitalash was brilliant between chemo sessions. Definitely helped.

I can't get a link to work but benefit Ka brow gel and the brow pencils are great.

I haven't tried Benefit, but that sounds ideal thank you.

Would Benefit Brow Zings work? It has a wax that you put on in the shape you desire, and then you use powder and the spool to achieve the colour and thickness you want. I'd say it lasts about 8 hours, though, not 12. Hope you're doing well today!

Stila Stay All Day waterproof brow colour pens are great.

I use the Medium shade and it can be very subtle or built up to be darker as required, has a 'brush' like a felt tip pen and lasts very well. You can apply it like individual hairs or just draw it on, depending on skill!

I'm not sure what sort of shade you'll be looking for but Medium has no reddish tint which has often been a problem for me with other brown eyebrow products.

All the very best with your treatment.

This is good and so simple to use. All the shades available on their own website. Best of luck with your treatment.

my favourite is NYX eyebrow mascara. There are about four very natural shades and it doesn't look blocky at all. I scrape the wand initially so it isn't loaded when I first apply it. It's great stuff and really natural. Very good price too, much cheaper than other like Benefit which are nowhere near as good imo

Can you get them tattooed or microbladed? I lost most of mine doe to thyroid issues and it was such a pain to pain them on constantly. Got a tattoo, it looks totally natural but I have beautiful eyebrows all the time.

jcoc147 · 21/06/2019 17:59

I would also recommend benefit brow products.
Gimme Brow has a nice natural finish and is really easy to use. I hate the block brow look and feel this just gives natural definition.

BenWillbondsPants · 21/06/2019 20:20

Wow, thank you ladies some great suggestions here I'll end up with about 6 different ones!

I can't get them tattooed or microbladed while on treatment, I'm wishing I'd done it beforehand now.
