Best night cream for dry skin?

MorrisZapp · 19/06/2019 08:06

My skin is crying out for some love. I usually skip night cream but I'm waking up parched. My skin is very dry, and showing signs of ageing (I'm 48 god dammit).

Any faves? I want to wake up looking soft and relaxed. Don't want retinol.

Try a Korean sleep-pack. I have Tony Moly Magic Food Banana, and Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Both leave me with super soft, plump, moisturised skin in the morning. Laneige is slightly better, but either are great. Koreans really know their skincare!

ESPA overnight hydration therapy! A little goes a long way and I wake up with super smooth, hydrated skin. m.lookfantastic.com/espa-overnight-hydration-therapy-55ml/11553606.html?thg_ppc_campaign=71700000039973188&adtype=&product_id=&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIven7rv_04gIVrb_tCh0BnwmEEAAYASAAEgJKQPD_BwE

Weleda Skin Food.
Blue Nivea.
La Roche Posay Nutritic Intense.
I alternate between these and use a facial oil on top.

A moisturiser is just that. Adds moisture, so it doesn't need a fancy name or price tag. The treatment bit should come with how you cleanse, and the serums etc you use. Moisturisers can boast being anti wrinkle, firming etc etc but are very unlikely to have enough ingredient in the basic moisturiser to be able to do much.

These are brilliant, many thanks!

First cleanse with avacado oil and remove with a facecloth and tepid water.

Second cleanse with a creamy lotion face wash,I use a Nivea one or an Amie one. Again remove with face cloth.

Hydration toner- the sort you leave on not the alcohol type from the 80's.

Blue Nivea.

Right I'm definitely trying blue nivea. Is it the stuff in the tin?

I have a glorious, oily cleanser from Dermalogica that you'll have to prise from my cold, dead hands.

The Superdrug Vitamin E night cream is lovely.

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 08:37

Yes,the blue nivea is the original stuff in the blue tub ( plastic these days)

It's so fantastic.

Mrstwiddle · 19/06/2019 08:39

Cerave cream, in a tub, is highly recommended on Amazon.com, I just got it a few days ago, as I’m using retin a which dries my skin out no end, so far so good!

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 08:40

** Nivea soft is lovely for the day too!

MorrisZapp · 19/06/2019 08:41

Actually the 'hot and flashy' lady I follow on YouTube is always raving on about cerave. Love the Vit E stuff too but for some reason I prefer the fragrance in winter.

I was unimpressive by Cerave.

TheCanterburyWhales · 19/06/2019 10:27

I've also always used Astral on my neck. V similar to blue Nivea but slightly less gloopy. I do think Nivea has the edge though. I'm also trying Vaseline as per another thread on here.

LoafofSellotape · 19/06/2019 11:21

I use Vaseline too for really wintery skin.

Forgotmycoat · 19/06/2019 11:55

The Superdrug Naturally Radiant night cream gets loads of 5 star reviews and is excellent for moisturizing. Currently half price for about 3 quid. It's the one I use. Feels really soothing.

puppymouse · 19/06/2019 13:33

I use basic Nivea in the navy pot. I think it's fab. And cheap!

MorrisZapp · 19/06/2019 14:11

I've invested my £1.50 and duly slathered :) Not expecting miracles but it genuinely has softened the appearance of my neck crepiness.
