Specsavers Glasses, keep sliding down my nose!

My new glasses keep sliding down my nose, it's a bit annoying! They feel a bit uncomfortable, I've had them since last Wednesday, they were adjusted to fit me when I collected them, but they just don't feel comfortable.

I'm not great a picking out glasses & it usually takes me ages and I never seem to have the time at the time, iukwim!

I was going to have a look at the men's section when I was looking at frames in the first place (after all they are just frames, what's it matter if it's male/female ones) but DH was a bit stand offish & said 'just choose a pair from the womens- I think he was tired of being there so long!)

So I do plan on going back & seeing what they say, I've seen a couple in the men's section online that I like the look of, so depending what Specsavers say, if they are willing to let me have a different pair that fit me better, I wouldn't look daft choosing from the men's section would I?

I chose specs from men’s or women’s depending on what I like best. I have also worn glasses designed for children as an adult.

Spec savers are usually really good with adjustments etc, take them back and have a chat with them.

Are they glasses without adjustable nose pads? If they have nose pads then 100% go back and get them refitted, if you genuinely like them.

If they don't have adjustable nose pads then they may never fit correctly. Is the bridge of your nose smaller than average? I love the look of the fixed nose pads but the bridge of my nose is just too narrow for them, so no matter how well they're fitted around the ears and look in the shop, within a few days they'll be falling down my nose. They're are products you can get to make glasses stay on better (www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/Nerdwax-Stop-Slipping-Glasses-Shark/dp/B00O0CK2UM)?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-style-and-beauty-3614100-Specsavers-Glasses-keep-sliding-down-my-nose" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/Nerdwax-Stop-Slipping-Glasses-Shark/dp/B00O0CK2UM) but I didn't want to have to deal with that and just bought ones with nose pads. I don't even look at ones without them now

miri1985 - no they don't have nose pads, I stopped wearing glasses like that years ago as they kept leaving me with a red mark!

The sides will be too wide and/or too long. Both are simple adjustments, so go back and see tnem

Occasionally it can be that the bridge is a poor fit, but that will usually leave sore patches.

Take them back in store - they can shorten the arms by bending them more around your ear. Should stop the slipping.

BackforGood · 16/06/2019 22:25

Agree with everyone else, they will adjust them in store for you.

If they have already fitted the lenses, then you will have to pay again if you want to start again. However, if you want to do that, then I can't see why a pair of glasses is "mens" or "womens" , no.

BubblesBuddy · 16/06/2019 22:33

All decent glasses have width, length of arm and size of each lens. It doesn’t matter if they are men’s or women’s but if they are too wide or have arms too long they should have made sure you had a smaller size. They can be adjusted but they should have considered sizes with you at the time and advised against them if they were too big.

mineofuselessinformation · 16/06/2019 22:33

They should be able to adjust them as PP have said.
I got new glasses on Thursday and need to go back for the same problem as you. I think the people in the opticians are wary of making them too tight as that is very uncomfortable.
