Contact Lenses Online

Does anyone order their contact lenses online? I currently have mine sent to me every 3 months, however i rarely wear them, as my prescription has changed anyway to varifocal. My currant contacts are just single vision. To save money, I was looking online at varifocal contacts and was thinking of just getting 1 box of disposables (i have astigmatism as well) that are varifocal. It is my glasses prescription that i enter isn't it - im only asking as my contact prescription was always slightly different to my glasses, even before i was prescribed varifocals. Also there is an 'ADD' box - with the options of LOW,MED,HIGH, i'm not familair with this? any recommendations would be really good.

Okay so after further reading, i now know that using my glasses prescription isn't a good idea! I will have to go to the opticians first and have another test. Once i have my prescription for varifocal contacts, any recommendations for online retailers greatly received!

Get a proper disposable contacts prescription and buy one month from that optician then use that info to order what you need from daysoft.

I’ve been using daysoft for about 3 years no problems 😄

Yeah check with your optician for prescription, then do a search online. I get mine from vision direct but many websites do them (superdrug etc). The daily ones are great for me as dont wear often

I’ve used Lenstore for years and found them cheap and reliable, offering a reputable brand of daily disposables.

Another vote for Daysoft.

Thank you, will look into all suggestions once I've had my test done & got my prescription.

If you're changing to a new type of contact lens, the optician should give you free samples of what they recommend at the appointment, and let you keep trying until you get the right ones for you. It's not just the vision you need to be comfortable with, there are different sizes, materials used and not all will suit your eyes.
No need to say you're going to go away and order online, it's easy enough to find what you need, but def make sure first.

Yes you’ll need up to date lens test, I use lenstore they come next day never had problems not sure if they are cheaper or not? As the lens I use are the more expensive ones anyway, depends on what you need

I have never been able to use varifocal contacts, I feel as if I don’t see anything properly, although some people love them. Def worth trying diff kinds at the optician. I wear single vision and a cheap pair of readers.

chasingseagulls · 16/06/2019 10:37

yeah, I meant to say I didn't get on with varifocal contacts, found them very different to varifocal glasses. I haven't made up my mind yet, but I think I will stick to normal lenses and get some reading glasses to wear when I need them.
