Cheap and amazing toiletries

CheekyCat10 · 13/06/2019 20:44

After years of buying expensive toiletries and smellies, I've come to the realisation most of them may smell nice, but do nothing more than cheaper products.

I wondered if anyone would like to recommend cheap products they use and love?

Mine:

Nivea 2 in 1 cleanser and toner - smells nice and removes make up well. It's also gentle on eyes

Tesco 2 in 1 anti dandruff shampoo - makes my hair super soft and lovely

Nivea essentials night cream - so moisturising

Aldi day and night creams

I work in this industry and cost price on a cheap Vs expensive formula is very little. Its the fancy jar and box that makes up most of the cost

FritataPatate · 13/06/2019 20:56

Love the Nivea 2 in 1!

Charles Worthington Everyday Gentle Micellar Shampoo (volumises and balances hair, I buy when it's 1/3rd off)

Evening Primrose Oil tablets (one of the cheapest and easiest routes to great skin)

Garnier cleansing milk and the Pure Active moisturisers

H&M perfumes - these are a great find

Microfibre hair turbans (dries your hair really quickly)

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Anti-Aging Smoothing Lotion (softens and exfoliates with fruit acids, smells grim)

Perfume Parlour (the small roll on perfume oil dupes)

Simple Protecting Light Moisturiser (the 50ml pouch version is £1.99 from Superdrug)

Superdrug B Essence (one of the best skincare products on the market)

Rimmel lip oils (these are amazing)

Zara perfume - really underrated

Sukin skin stuff. It's an Australian company. All their stuff is natural and vegan. Makes your skin look amazing and it's always on special in Boots

clucky3 · 13/06/2019 22:02

I love sukin too. Got it in Holland and barrat, I didn't realise they sold it in boots

haverhill · 13/06/2019 22:06

All Superdrug vitamin E range is excellent especially the oil.
Faith in Nature shampoo is lovely.
Pears soap. The new green one is gorgeous.

Loveislandaddict · 13/06/2019 22:09

Nivea moisturiser (in blue tub)

MinesaPinot · 14/06/2019 09:52

Nivea Sensitive Cleansing Milk

Garnier or Superdrug B micellar water

Herbal Essences Argan Oil shampoo & conditioner

M & S Sheer Radiance perfume

I wish I could get on with Aldi moisturisers as they always have such good reviews, but every one I've tried has brought me out in spots, same with Nivea, Garnier etc., so I balance my Estee Lauder Daywear Moisturiser purchase with bargain buys in other areas.

Richlyfruited · 14/06/2019 10:04

Simple foaming facewash - so good that I always repurchase. It's meant to be a Clinique dupe!

Collection concealer - simply the best one I've tried.

Right Guard coconut shower gel - smells amazing and only a quid!

Lidl Suddenly Madam Glamour

Another vote for Perfume Parlour too!

clucky3 · 14/06/2019 11:25

Garnier micellar water
Dr bronners soap bars
Body shop vitamin E cream

This isn't budget budget but the Cerave facial moisturiser is great. Huge amounts of research by dermatologists has gone into it and has hyaluronics, ceramides and niacinamides. All things you'd pay a fortune for if a big brand made it. Fragrance free and feels lovely. Costs £12 full price, but is amazingly good value for what it is. I'll scrimp on other things but not on this.

stoplickingthetelly · 14/06/2019 20:04

I really like the new Your Good Skin range from boots. It’s great value for money and I’ve tried lots of the products and like them all.

Dominiom · 14/06/2019 20:11

Malibu miracle tan, usually found in home bargains for £3. It's a tan accelerator so used two weeks before your hols in the sun, helps to speed up the tanning process and minimising skin damage. Can also be used as an after Sun so multi purpose and so so cheap. Love the stuff!

Mirali · 14/06/2019 20:17

Pink Dove

CitadelsofScience · 14/06/2019 20:18

Superdrug's Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser, just like LE's but so cheap.

Aldi Lacura day and night eye gel, brilliant stuff.

And my daughter says The Ordinary's hyaluronic acid at £5 something a bottle.

Mirali · 14/06/2019 20:18

Bar

Magickl · 14/06/2019 20:24

The Cien roll-on antiperspirant deodorant from Lidl, at the bargainous price of 55p. The Total Invisible version has hardly any scent so doesn't clash with my perfume and it works as well as Mitchum for me. It's slow drying, but I find all rollons are.

bagelbaby · 14/06/2019 20:26

Botanics radiance balm from Boots. Bloody marvellous.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/06/2019 20:28

Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Glycolic Toner - I use it every day and my skin looks amazing. Way better than when I tried Pixi Glow Tonic (I didn't notice any difference in my skin at all).

HeyMicky · 14/06/2019 20:33

Alex Steinherr Plump and Glow serum at Primark. Punches WAAAAAAY above its weight

CitadelsofScience · 14/06/2019 20:35

HundredMiles thanks, I'll let my daughter know that. She loves the Pixi one.

MissMogwai · 14/06/2019 20:56

Superdrug's Simply Pure range for sensitive skin. My DD and I use the cleanser and the moisturisers and both are fab.

Everything is about £2.99 and almost always on 3 for 2.

Isthebigwomanhere · 14/06/2019 20:58

Superdrug vit e range is amazing

Lauzy86 · 14/06/2019 21:09

I picked up the Lidl version of Pantene recently - 99p each! I am getting so many compliments on my hair since that I'm going to keep using it.
Another vote for Collection concealer too!

WeThreeKingsofOrientAre · 14/06/2019 21:12

I’ve tried the Moisturising Factors, Niacinimide 10% and Vitamin C Suspensions all less than £8 per item by The Ordinary and would recommend all of them.
