Purchase some Whitening Repair and Protect to compliment my tooth whitening regime as my teeth become sensitive with white strips. My husband has also been advised by dentist to start using a sensitive toothpaste.

This its the first time I have ever used a sensitive toothpaste and oddly it felt awful and SENSITIVE for the first few sevonda on my teeth. Ivenever had this with any toothpaste begore. Does anyone jnow why this happens? Online there are stories of people saying that Sensodyne triggered sensitivity in people and now I'm wondering if it's a bad idea!

You experiences please?

Sensodyne Rapid was bad for me. I bought it because of sensitivity caused by receding gum, and it was awful. Made my teeth really tingle unpleasantly.

I didn’t get this but I find it tastes revolting so I can’t use it.

I have used Sensodyne toothpaste for years and years and never had a problem. And then a couple of months ago I tried the Sensodyne Sensitivity & Gum and oh my god; the inside of my mouth was covered in sores and ulcers. Problem is, I never thought it had anything to do with the toothpaste, I thought I was just stressed, so I continued using the toothpaste. The sores inside my cheek disappeared but then I got them on my tongue. Then I noticed the base of my tongue was swollen. Then it would get slightly better, only to then return with a vengeance. The inside of my mouth felt raw. I once woke up with a puffy face and really swollen lips, it looked like I had had plastic surgery. I went to the DR and got something to put in the ulcers and took an antihistamine. And then the penny dropped. It was the bloody toothpaste!! I stopped using it and in two days the sores were gone. I now use sls free Corsodil.

I haven’t had a problem with Sensodyne - currently use the new gum whitening one

Yes, it makes my teeth hurt. I can't use it.

It makes the corner of my mouth crack.

@BloggersNetwork I'm so glad I read your post. I ran out of toothpaste a few weeks ago so used my OH's sensodyne for a few days (Not sure if it was the same one). I had sores in my mouth after but have only just linked the two after your post. Luckily it was only until I could get my normal toothpaste. I've just asked OH and he doesn't gave any problems with it.

Could it be the aspartame?

WolfhoundsofLove · 17/06/2019 22:25

Yup, the same thing that happened to * happened to me! I’ve got a history of awful ulcers, so when I had that reaction I saw my oral surgeon and he was baffled too. It eventually clicked, 2 days before I was booked in to have a biopsy done on my tongue (because of my previous mouth problems). Fucking Sensodyne, I wish I could sue them for the unnecessary pain their product put me through.

I've only ever tried a sample tube of Sensodyne which I picked up in the dentist waiting room (and took away with me for a weekend break) and it made my teeth hurt when I brushed them.
