Can you recommend an oil-based cleanser?

I’ve heard that oil-based cleansers are brilliant. I’d like to find out made from natural ingredients (e.g. Neals Yard Remedies or similar), and that will moisturize my skin, not dry it.

Avon cleansing balm £7 just as lovely as all the others.

I've literally never tried one I didn't like

Plain old olive oil works really well. Just rub it onto a damp face and remove with a warm, damp flannel. Removes eye make up brilliantly.

This stuff is great. Pricey, but a bottle lasts 6 months. It’s worked much better for me than other oil cleansers

I make my own- half and half caster oil and jojoba or sweet almond. Add tea tree and lavender essential oils. I have oily skin and this doesn’t make it worse. Takes all my makeup off.

Thank you!

Hermione, I like the idea if making things. Where did you get you recipe?

HermioneWeasley · 16/06/2019 11:17

If you look at oil cleansing sites there’s loads of recipes, but the principle is that castor oil is quite drying, so if you have dry skin use it in a smaller ratio. I have very oily skin and use it 50/50. Th n add whatever essential oils you like. I buy the oils in bulk from amazon. I reckon it costs about £5 a year

Thanks Hermione, I'll look into that!
