Please help I've got serious pigmentation on my cheeks and I want to hide it. Can I use fake tan? Can anyone offer any recommendations? (Ps I wear sunscreen)

Could you not try IPL to remove the pigmentation? It worked really well for me.

It's quite difficult to cover pigment, a high coverage and long wearing concealer is your best bet. E.g. Laura Mercier Secret camoflauge, or MAC Studio Finish concealer. Apply to the pigmented areas only; for the rest of your face keep coverage to a minimum(e.g. a light coverage foundation), otherwise it may end up looking too heavy.

Also fake tan is not a good idea. It will make your skin darker, but it will make the pigmentation look darker as well. Also it's not going to make much difference unless you plan on going heavy handed with the fake tan (in which case you'll end up orange!)

Thanks so much @violetbunny how many sessions of IPL did you have? Did it totally get rid of it? Did it hurt? I love the idea of it being gone completely!

Beware with IPl and really research it. I have suffered with pigmentation marks for ages, I tried IPL years ago and it made mine worse Sad. I use Estee Lauder Camouflage foundation and factor 50 sunscreen. I have also recently read about Tranexamic Acid that can help taken with vitamin c. I have just started those so we will see!
Good luck, it sucks doesnt it.

You could try Vichy dermablend corrective foundation.

IPL can help but only on certain types of pigmentation.

You could also try a regime of hydroquinone and tret, which is pretty much guaranteed to help.
