Alternative to Lidl & Aldi's discontinued dry skin body lotions

Hi,

just wondering if anybody could help with cheap, thick, dry skin body lotion recommendations as both, Lidl and Aldi, seem to have discontinued their dry skin body lotions. Lidl sells something different now that's thin and useless for my skin, Aldi just seems to have take it off the shelf. Both were heaven sent, the Aldi one slightly better as less perfumed.

Looking for thick, moisturising body lotion for dry skin (without paying 5 times as much ideally as I do go through them quite quickly using them after showers). I used to use the Nivea one (way more expensive, thinner) and my girlfriend has a Superdrug one which could be ok (not sure how much it costs) but it's also thinner and both would just be an emergency option.

Is there anything like the Lidl/Aldi ones?

Many thanks!

Hi @LMIA,

We're going to move this thread over to our Style and Beauty topic - we're sure some of the regulars will be able to suggest some alternatives for you.

Superdrug Vitamin E All Over Intensive body cream
Palmers Cocoa Butter
One of the Vaseline, Aveeno or Neutragena ones?

The Aldi organic coconut oil (Coco Loco) is cheap and super intensive and moisturising. Much better than other brands.

Akoma shea butter is also good. You could make a homemade body cream with it too. Put it in a bain Marie with some sunflower, sweet almond or olive oil and let it all melt whilst stirring occasionally. Leave it to cool for a bit, put in the fridge. After, whisk it with an electronic handheld whisk. Put it in a dark pot.

A little bit more expensive than Aldi or Lidl (but not by much) but Palmer's cocoa butter is quite good.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. Will have to check these out.

Lidl has white and green bottles now. The green one (for dry skin) is complete rubbish (at least as far as my skin is concerned) but the one for sensitive skin isn't too bad (similar to the Superdrug one. Not super rich and thick but not so thin that you actually feel more dry than before putting it on). Still hope to find something like the Aldi Lacura one. Can't remember the Lidl brand name, Cien? (it has been discontinued a while ago).

Vaseline Intensive Care, huge white bottle ,usually on offer for 2 for a fiver.

I have dry skin as a result of a scald and Aveeno makes it feel far less tight. I also swear by Childs Farm, which I use on DS.

Agree with aveeno (esp the one with the blue lid), more expensive (usually on offer for about £4) but you only have to use a small amount in comparison to other body lotions.
