What would you call this style?

I love this "style", is it even a style though? What would you call it? Casual... But what else?! Want to pin down what exactly my personal style is, but struggling to define it. I basically live in jeans and striped tops and cardigans, sometimes patterned dresses, usually dark colours, thanks!

I don't know what I'd call that - I don't think it's a style as such: if you took the fact that she's pretty and wearing a lot of make up out of the equation she looks like a lot of people I see in the supermarket.
Skinny mum? Student?

DameDoom · 02/06/2019 12:40

Gamine?

JenMumma · 02/06/2019 12:43

Au Pair Chic ?

AndTheSeaRollsOn · 02/06/2019 12:45

Minimalist meets boho? It’s a bit outdoorsy, on the feminine side of androgynous

DontFundHate · 02/06/2019 14:17

Thanks for your help! I like gamine, that makes sense. And yes minimalist but maybe dark minimalist?

French mum grunge?

TheDuckSaysMoo · 02/06/2019 14:38

Indie preppy cross?

MarshaBradyo · 02/06/2019 14:40

Winona Ryder and gamine

PuppyMonkey · 02/06/2019 14:42

I’m not sure - the middle pic looks like “FFS I left the grill on” chic, maybe?Grin

floraloctopus · 02/06/2019 14:43

Ordinary? What many of us wear day in day out!

onalongsabbatical · 02/06/2019 14:45

Agree gamine. en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/gamine

DameDoom · 02/06/2019 14:59

This is a look that looks fabulous on some women no matter their age and can be achieved for literally pence. It can also look very frumpy on those of us who lack the Winonaesque gamine pertness required.
You need to be very slim to do this well unfortunately.

Bluesheep8 · 02/06/2019 19:22

I wouldn't say the style had a particular name. It just looks 'ordinary' or 'usual' to me.

Bluesheep8 · 02/06/2019 19:23

Not that either are a bad thing of course!

DontFundHate · 02/06/2019 20:51

Pahahaha thanks Mumsnet, laughing at my "ordinary" style Grin

Rachelle11 · 02/06/2019 20:53

I agree. It looks great on petite Winona type women. Gamine.

DontFundHate · 02/06/2019 21:31

*I'm laughing I mean

Well I have Winona hair and not too far from skinny, I'll add Winona to my Pinterest ideas!

Look up 90's Winona. She was the coolest. ;)

Lumene · 03/06/2019 00:02

“Studenty”

DontFundHate · 04/06/2019 13:25

Oh definitely studenty yes!! Probably too old for that now so I'll go with gamine and tomboy hah! Great I'm going to Pinterest Winona!

Me in Tesco.

LaMarschallin · 04/06/2019 14:04

I'd go with gamine if it has to be something. But skinny jeans, casual top and boots is pretty standard.
Imo, what pushes me towards 'gamine' is her haircut and the fact she's slim.
So, if it's not ordinary (which it is, a little bit), what style would you like it to be?

Sorry, btw, but I do like to style my posts with an italic Smile

Atalune · 04/06/2019 14:07

If your very petite then gamine.

Otherwise, I think perhaps French or maybe a bit preppy.

tobee · 04/06/2019 15:14

Personally I think it's called "I wish!"

LaMarschallin · 04/06/2019 15:25
