How do you maintain H&M clothes?

I love H&M due to the style, affordability and how the clothes have an appearance of good quality, at least in the shop.

But after a couple of washes, they look like rags. Especially the tshirts - the fabric looks so soft and premium at purchase but after two wears, it looks so thin and almost threadbare.

I expect that with Primark clothes as they are dirt cheap so I know I compromise quality. Some of the tshirts even look poor quality in the shop. But I pay more for H&M and they look so good in the shop.

How do you maintain your H&M clothes? I'm thinking less washing but in the summer, I sweat a lot and clothes need washing.

I'm surprised you're finding g and m fabrics premium at purchase!
However my kids have things from their and they've never fallen to bits or looked like rags
I maintain them via the use of this newfangled invention, the washing machine. If you're still using a wooden dolly for laundry could that be the reason why?

No to the tumble dryer!
Thays your problem!

Completely agree with the wash and dryer comments - hot washes and tumble drying ruins clothes. Apart from underwear and towels I never wash above 40. Don't use fabric conditioner either.
I use a Lakeland Dry Soon heated airer in the colder months and although expensive initially, it has been an absolute godsend and very cheap to run.

I buy a lot of my DS clothes in H&M ( he's tall and very thin. The jeams fit him well, the TShirts have a nice feel to them, drape well, long enough and not boxy)

ll his clothes last well. I do use a dryer to finish off clothes after I've hung them either outside or on the airer .

Clothes for DD or me ....... H&M have some clothes that look nice until you touch them. I can almost feel how my armpits will be shredded by the fabric Hmm

I have a couple of nice blouses from there , I wash in a netbag on a 30 cycle , hang up.
Knitwear is hit and miss, some are very boxy in shape but if I get a nice one they last ok.

I cannot stand the website though, on my screen it is a tiny section in the middle and a pain in the bum to navigate .

@Hollowvictory - I'm plus size and I find soft fabric of their tshirts fall beautifully over my curves. I don't find that with any of the other high street brands unfortunately. Obviously, I haven't tried the more expensive end of the spectrum like Hush etc.

I've tried Gap but they are also similar. Si I think I need to change my washing and drying routine.

Thanks again for all your responses. They are very helpful and eye-opening.
