Just that really, please advise.
48, size 12, big boobs, lumps n bumps.
We’ve only ever done Cornwall/Norfolk holidays where you take everything but the kitchen sink!
I’m ok with the 3 DC but wtf do I take apart from swimwear?
Please give me bullet points Grin

Not a lot. It’s bloody roasting. I took long wafty dresses last July and ended up in bikini top/vest combo and shorts. I could barely tolerate my bra!!

Remember a light cardigan or similar for the evenings.

YetAgainNameChanged · 01/06/2019 20:30

Where abouts in Turkey are you going?
Midge creme would be high on my list in some places!

MayFayner · 01/06/2019 20:32
  • filp flops
  • other sandals for night
  • bikinis/ swimsuits x 3/4
  • beach cover up - LIGHT floaty ones, not towelling or anything
  • sundress for day x 2/3
  • dresses for night - light sleeveless ones x 2/3
  • maybe one v. light cardigan for evening

Personally I could never bear any kind of denim, or most trousers/ shorts in either July or August in Turkey. Dresses are the best things.

Have an amazing time!

Depends what you'll be doing. If you're just on the beach, focus on swimwear, flip flops, sun cream, shirt/kaftan/dress to cover up and some light dresses or shorts depending on your style. If you're also sightseeing in a city or doing active stuff/hiking, you'll obviously need to take slightly different gear.
There's a packing checklist somewhere on MN for all the practical stuff (documents, chargers, stuff for small kids etc).

Snooks1971 · 01/06/2019 20:33

So just light sheer wafty things? It’s an All Inclusive family resort (I know) and so no need for anything more dressy in the evenings?

Yes bring mosquito spray and those plug-in mosquito things for your room.

Sorry didn’t see last msgs before typing!

I think it’s nice to have one or two dressier things for evening, e.g. simple black (light) jersey dress dressed up with jewellery.

Personally I never wear heels there but maybe partly because the area we go to has a lot of cobbled streets.

Snooks1971 · 01/06/2019 20:42

Wow thanks some great advice thank you all! Very good point about midges - we got bitten last year in France.
It’s Antalya, think we will stay within the resort (not sure though).
MayFayner going to do your list, thanks everyone!

It’s super hot, lived in sundress and vest/floaty top shorts combo last year! Not much else bar swim wear!

JaceLancs · 01/06/2019 21:54

I’ve been to turkey a few times
Day time I usually wear either linen shorts and light floaty top or linen dresses
I take lots of swimwear and a couple of cover ups or kimonos
Flat sandals and fit flops
I take a few dressier dresses for evening but not maxi and usually cotton or linen
I prefer linen shirts as a cover up if needed than cardigans although I do have 2 very lightweight linen cardigans with short sleeves

It is absolutely boiling there! So, depending on skin tone and how easily you burn, pack for extremely warm weather. It won't rain!

If you like to visit the mosques or any religious places of interest, pack some light trousers and a top that covers your shoulders. They do have capes etc you can wear but they were boiling!
