Hi everyone!

I've got a wardrobe full of lacy tops and velvet skirts and suits from my "old life", and every day I reach for the same midi/ jeans/ jumper/ boots/ trainers.

I need to refresh. Can I have your recommendations, your wardrobe must haves, your staples?????

Some info for reference......

Mum of a 6month old
28 years old
5'6"
Size 8 top 12 bottom

I've dropped enough baby weight to feel myself again but I want to have a simple, classic, easy wardrobe that I feel comfortable AND attractive in. Please help!

Thank you x

Watching with interest. Mine is younger, but also struggling with all the transitions and only having a limited number of things that fit and I can feed in

Move away from skinny jeans and vary the jeans up with different styles and T-shirt’s...get some trainers that dress up your outfit for park days and some belts that add details. Leopard, bright colours etc. Jumpsuits work well - as do dungarees. Go plain denim and wear with different bright coloured t shirts and have a few mid length skirts maybe to dress up a bit when you aren’t crawling on the floor! I have two go to looks - some variety of denim and a T-shirt or mid length skirt/dress with trainers still. Don’t feel like you have to change your style though - but you do have to make it more practical for scaling climbing frames or crawling on play mats. Button down tops/dresses and jump suits work well for feeding too.

This black jumpsuit for example works well - comfy practical and easy to button down. Looks nice with trainers and denim jacket but equally with nice sandals.

I had a dress similar to this on today with flat tan sandals and this style works well...tea dresses when you search on ASOS.

I have found h and m’s nursing dresses a brilliant find. Flattering and easy to wear. Not obviously feeding wear either.

Midi shirt dress (pulled waist) and denim jacket. Trainers or sandals in summer/boots tights in autumn.

Black or navy casual jumpsuit and denim jacket. trainers/sandals.

Jeans, blouse and sandals/boots. Front tuck with nice belt.

Jersey blazer is another great throw on piece to smarten up jeans/top/trainers.

My DC are older now but I second a Midi shirt dress, denim or cotton for summer. I like boyfriend jeans with a variety of tops, Uniqlo do some good t-shirts or Other Stories from time to time. I do also like patterned blouses - from Zara or similar, they hide any child related stains but make me feel more together. I always like to have a nice belt too.

I've just ordered some soft jumpsuits from ASOS and George - really light and airy for summer and easy to move around in. Much more comfortable and mobile than jeans
