Help me with work wardrobe

I wear loose clothes so that’s a must. I have too big a bust and jelly rolls for fitted things. I seem to have started to sweat loads too, and need clothes that are breathable and won’t show up wet underarm patches (this is another issue I need to address with GP). I’m size 14-16 top and 12 trousers. Have very skinny long legs. What will suit me?!

We're just giving this a bump for you, OP. Flowers

Have you looked at the Boden website?

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/05/2019 10:31

How formal does your job require you to be dressed? Office suits or more casual? Basic sounds like a couple of well fitting pairs of black trousers - Next Long would probably work on your shape. Then a mix of coloured tops and then it depends on formality.

On another note, there was a thread recently about sweating and the most recommended solution was bar soap like Dove followed by Mitchum roll on or stick deodorant.

Given your size and shape I'd be inclined to go the other way around - you can afford to go for colour on the bottom with your long legs, say cigarette pants, and darker looser tops if you're concerned about sweating.
Something like this top

But with different trousers

Would a lagenlook work for you? Drapey linen and cotton tops etc.

This article may be helpful www.idaretobe.com/what-is-lagenlook-i40. You could certainly start off looking at the high end for inspiration then you would get a feeling for what is similar on the high street - shops like Sahara are great. They stock Oska in Fenwicks which is v pricey but if you have a try on sesh it would give you inspiration. They all look shite on the hanger so trying on is an absolute must - you will be gobsmacked.
I am the sweatiest Betty ever and apply Odaban spray to my pits and feet using a cotton wool pad so it isn't madly itchy and stingy. I do this every other night and find it better than Driclor ( pure itchy agony) or Perspirex ( same but ineffective). One spray does both pits and it doesn't irritate my skin.

Firstly, long legs? Lucky you!

How smart is your workplace?
Do you prefer trousers or dresses/skirts?

I agree with PPs, go for tighter fitting trousers or skirts with more volume ie shirts etc as tops.

Bluebluered · 26/05/2019 16:11

Thanks for the bump!

Thanks for the suggestions, I am liking all these suggestions, the lagenlook looks very comfortable and that’s what I need.

Work won’t be very formal, but smart casual. I bought a linen shirt dress the other day that will be really comfy.

Thanks for the Odaban suggestion, just bought a bottle from amazon :)

If not very smart then I would suggest cigarette pants or smart skinny jeans.

Any of these slim & skinny trousers gap?
Specific pair skinny trousers?

With looser tops.
This one looks quite roomy shirt

Would any of that work?

Bluebluered · 26/05/2019 17:46

I can’t see the gap suggestions, the link doesn’t work, but I’ll have a look through gap, they do nice shirts iirc.

Thank you!
