Are these boots frumpy?

Tell me honestly -- is this frumpy? I unearthed a pair of Wide Steps Edgar glove boots that's very similar to this but with lower heel, and I'm thinking of wearing them to work (I'm in Australia, so Autumn right now). I honestly don't know why I ended up not using them! I think I must have bought them after Winter (during the sales) 2 years ago and forgot about them. So...frumpy?

It really depends what you wear them with. Wear them with boot cut jeans 2 inches too short then yes they would look frumpy. I think the little bit turnt down on the heel adds a touch of frumpiness to them.

Yes they are.

MoltonSilver · 25/05/2019 11:38

They're a bit Mary Poppins.

Bluesheep8 · 25/05/2019 11:54

Yes I think they are. Sorry

MoltonSilver A bit Mary Poppins is perfect!

I thought they are too, tbh, but I also simultaneously posted this question in a FB group with young people (20s) and all of them said it's not. Hmn...so maybe our "frumpy" is cool now?

I am old, and I wouldn't wear them. Maybe just not my style but I really don't like them. However, with a long and interesting skirt they would be fine. Something with a bit of a quirky design. Not with black plain trousers or jeans though.

The 80s and 90s fashion is back, but for us older ladies (40 years old) they just remind us of what our mothers or older relatives wore therefor we class them as frumpy maybe?!?!
