Neither stylish nor beautiful - spots on lipline

Sorry for the gross thread. Over the last week I have had several spots on my upper lipline - they are really sore, plus ugly. I haven’t changed any products, and the only thing I can think of is that my lip liner pencil melted in last week’s mini heatwave - I put it in the fridge, then sharpened it, but I have been using that same one for years. (Not the same actual pencil!) I am pre-menstrual, but have never had spots in this area, ever.

So, two questions if anyone can help:

What can be causing this? I will replace the lip liner, but can’t get to MAC until Saturday.

What can I do to get rid of them?

I find it hard to believe it's the lip liner, especially as you've sharpened it with general gets rid of any bacteria lurking (unless your sharpener is filthy). Have you not changed any skin care? Did you get really sweaty in the heat wave? Could it have been your pores opening in the heat and trapping bacteria from your skin/foundation etc did you eat anything unusual that could've caused a reaction? New toothpaste that doesn't agree with you? New cleanser? Upper lip hair removal?

buster I also find it's hard to believe it's the lipliner, because I've used the same brand for about 20 years, but I can't think of anything else that's an oddity. I don't tend to use foundation on that bit of my face, just on my cheeks to even things out, and no new skincare or toothpaste, hair removal standard. I'm in Scotland so it wasn't much of a heatwave either! I re-sharpened the liner last night, but didn't think to sterilise the sharpener, so I will do that this evening. I look like I've had some sort of bonkers fillers gone wrong.

Would you be prepared to pop on photo on here? Sounds bizarre!

How do you wash your face? Water or cream cleanser? Do you use a face cloth? Have you changed your washing powder?

I've had spots on my upper lip line. Tiny buggers but really painful.

Do you use lip balm a lot? I had a facial recently and therapist said it could be because of lipbalm/blocking pores on upper lip. Possible I guess.

Sore tiny spots on my lipline were my first signs of acne roseacae which I have unless I take antibiotics all the time. It started after I turned 50

Face washing, I use Clarins Pure Melt cleansing thing, with a face cloth, in the morning. At nights I switch around a bit, so some nights I use Chanel cleansing oil, others Murad exfoliating thing, others The Ordinary cleanser. I take makeup off with micellar water before cleansing. I've been using these same products for ages, with no issues, and we haven't changed washing powder. I will try and take a photo - am at work just now - but I must confess I have made it worse by going in with a needle last night.

Lipbalm, yes, I use Carmex, but only in the evenings because I wear lipstick in the day. Again, not a new thing.

Bloody hell, I really, really don't want it to be rosacea - I had horrible cystic acne in my 20s, and thought I was over it other than period spots!
