Jowls - Can anything help?

Apart from a face lift! Hate the jowelly look that's developed over the last couple of years. Have tried various 'firming' moisturisers, serums and nothing has made a difference.

Any suggestions? So far my only solution is grinning constantly...which is slightly sinister...

Making sure you’re not overweight and facial exercises as well massage has worked for me and I’m in my 50s. The exercises I do were from a very old Joan Collins book and I’ve been doing them around thirty years ago.

I expect it will all sag eventually.

Boots No 7 new firming booster serum used underneath No 7 Protect and and Perfect serum and day/night cream. Been using it religiously for two weeks - it's not a miracle transformation, but it's definitely improved my jowls.

Delatron · 22/05/2019 13:55

Depends how much you want to throw at it.

I don’t think any cream will lift the skin. Retinol (which is in protect and perfect) will
stimulate collagen production so will help a bit.

Radio frequency treatments tighten this area.
Also CACI facials are good.

Lasers will also stimulate collagen production.

I have a Nuface which I think helps but you do need not use it every day pretty much. (It’s a microcurrent device)

Wheresthebeach · 31/05/2019 13:30

Thanks - will try Boots serum, and take a look into Nuface and the facials.

I'm trying to lose a bit of weight to make sure it's not contributing to jowls and then going for a bit of cheek and jawline filler.

Floisme · 31/05/2019 17:39

I avoid stuff that draws the eye to my jawline. So no dangly earrings, no polo necks and no scarves (unless it's cold, in which case fuckit). Same with hair - I suit shorter but longer would do too, just not chin length.

Wheresthebeach · 02/07/2019 12:22

Interesting...my hair is chin length....hmmm

Can't face needles (no pun intended!) so fillers are out for me.

I'm nearly 50 and though my skin is pretty good - only a few light wrinkles - it's the sagging I really notice. It's not awful, but it's definitely there. I'm not overweight so it's not that. I really don't think creams, even retinol, can do anything as they can't reach deep enough to have an impact. So yes, I would say the only thing that really works is surgery but that's a bit drastic for me!

slinkysaluki · 02/07/2019 20:32

Threading facial
Profilho ?

CoffeeMilkNoSugar · 02/07/2019 22:05

Do the fancy facials really really work? Considering a CACI :)

princessTiasmum · 03/07/2019 14:13

Caci is good but you need to keep going a couple of sessions wont do it,it's an on going thing, and expensive

trader21c · 03/07/2019 17:07

Exercise

Wheresthebeach · 04/07/2019 12:17

Will look into Profilo.. Threading worries me as I get allergic reactions to so much. I'm doing Caci but it is expensive and I'm not sure maintainable long term.

Do those jade roller things make any difference? They keep popping up.

BrassicaBabe · 04/07/2019 13:12

Fillers Smile ok, invasive, but not as invasive as a face lift.
