For sweating presumably? How bad was your sweating? Have you found it difficult to regulate your body temperature since?

MorrisZapp · 19/05/2019 13:31

Yes sorry! For sweating. I've had to bin many a beloved t-shirt not just because of pit stains but because the hard core deodorant I have to use goes claggy and doesn't wash out, causing a disgusting film to build up on fabric.

Quite apart from the horror of wet circles on clothes and smelling unfresh by lunchtime.

I still sweat everywhere else so my body can regulate its temperature.

The results are brilliant but not perfect. The sweat under my arms is truly eradicated, last week I negotiated the London tube system in a hurry on a warm day and came out with bone dry pits! Unbelievable!

But there is still an odour, I do still have to wash as often and I'm still using deodorant, just a much lighter one.

I'm doing less laundry because my clothes aren't disgusting when I get in from work.

How much was it OP? Will you have to repeat it? If so, after how long?

gubbsywubbsy · 19/05/2019 16:44

My teen dd has hyperhydrosis and one of the 'cures' is Botox .. does it work ?

MorrisZapp · 19/05/2019 17:01

It absolutely works, it's like turning off a tap.

Cost for me was £400, or '£200 per area' ie each armpit is an area.

It's meant to last about six months, not sure if I will redo for the winter months, might do it once a year.

pain???

gubbsywubbsy · 19/05/2019 18:13

I think she could get it on the nhs if we wanted to do it .. I just don't like the idea of Botox in my body at all.

MorrisZapp · 19/05/2019 18:42

It wasn't sore at all, the glands are very close to the surface so it's very shallow injections. Each armpit took about one minute. There was a bit of tenderness for a few days but not pain.

It doesn't work on feet btw.

Lovelydovey · 19/05/2019 18:45

Where did you have it done?

WouldHAVEcouldHAVEshouldHAVE · 19/05/2019 18:52

I’ve had it done last couple of years, normally this time of year (need to get it done again now)
Absolutely life changing. I don’t really sweat but I stink a lot in the summer.

NotSoThinLizzy · 19/05/2019 18:54

You sure it dosent work on feet? OH Is getting it on his feet on the NHS.

lhastingsmua · 19/05/2019 19:30

I wouldn’t mind having this done.

My sweat doesn’t smell but I get a bit ‘damp’, for virtually no reason. It’s not just in extreme weather - sometimes my beloved Sure Maximum doesn’t keep me dry during low activity in cool temperatures. The sweat patches definitely ruins shirts and blouses, especially work tops. The area just dries down differently from the rest of the top!

MorrisZapp · 19/05/2019 23:53

Had it done at Dermal Clinic in Edinburgh, the lady there is so fab, she teaches all over the UK.

Really sorry if I got the feet thing wrong! Google will answer. I'm sure I was told its not licensed for feet but I might be talking pish.

No questions but wow, I didn't know this was a thing and will be enquiring tomorrow! Horrible post partum sweating

pollywollydoodler · 20/05/2019 01:38

@MorrisZapp -thank you

babyboyHarrison · 21/05/2019 09:59

Amazing, I had it done on the NHS, did it twice and haven't done it for years now and still only sweat like a normal person now. Before I used to have to dry under my arms with the hand dryer in the toilets multiple times everyday. It was so embarrassing and caused a lot of distress. It also means that despite sweating you then need to put extra layers to cover up the marks making you sweat more. I even had multiple identical tops so could swap clothes without people realising. It really was life changing.

lhastingsmua · 22/05/2019 14:44

I wonder if I sweat a normal or excessive amount - is there a checklist? I’m a petite size 6 with no other health concerns.

Recently I have woke up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat on my face, chest, back and underarms.

My face and underarms get quite damp with minimal activity. EG a 10 minute walk in the morning at 7am (cooler weather) leads to my face looking absolutely glazed. My hair gets kinky due to scalp sweat. My sunglasses slide off and remove my makeup. I can’t wear coats or jackets anymore in this weather - I see people in them and I just think how? Especially fur or teddy coats!
