Looking to treat myself to a backpack. I do have a baby so I need a decent amount of space but nothing too massive. I don't want to feel like I'm going round on my gap year. Absolutely clueless bit would like a decent brand so it lasts well but I don't want to spend more than £100.

Any ideas?

IS this to be used as a changing bag?

indyref2 · 12/05/2019 20:38

Kind of but I don't have a changing bag just now just coping with a handbag tbh.

Just need space to throw in a couple nappies and a bag of wipes.

I'd like to still be able to use it when the baby is a toddler and beyond.

I have the pacapod Staunton backpack. Which is a changing bag. I love it,

I love my Hershel backpack. Very hard wearing, good quality, and it spreads the weight of the bag evenly.

F'ing autocorrect, it's Saunton.

indyref2 · 12/05/2019 20:55

Which Hershel backpack do you have if you don't mind me asking?

I have the Retreat backpack. I use the laptop pouch for all of “my” things and the main body of the bag for nappies, wipes etc.

If you want something handbaggy looking M&S have some lovely backpacks at the moment.

I love my Fjallraven Raven 20l rucksack.....gorgeous purple colour, completely waterproof, has lots of pockets and places to hold drinks etc. I have 3 young children and have used it on many days out-holding lunches/wipes/waterproofs and all manner of essentials. It’s taken a battering in the last 3 months and it still looks brand new! I got it from Amazon as they quite often have good deals on them.

Anybody have this style?

I’ve just bought a doughnut macaroon bag. I like the look of Fjallraven but wanted better straps.

I like my Fjallraven Kanken, they have a nice range of colours and it opens up fully so you can easily get things out of the bottom without having to root around too much. Also has two drinks holders, a front pocket and a removable seat pad thing which makes it very comfy.

I know some people don't like the thin straps but I find them fine. There is a version with padded straps though.

The only disadvantage in my view is that they're absolutely everywhere. I think the dark colours (e.g. the black) are quite smart. The yellow is fun.

I use a Kanken for everything. I’m not really a handbag kind of girl.
