How to be stylish and comfortable on a plane

Just that really. Holiday booked to Florida this summer, and I want to be able to be comfortable but also stylish and ‘put together’ whilst travelling. What do you all wear on longer flights to stay comfortable but not look like a crumpled mess when you get there? Thanking you.

I wear jeggins and a smart t-shirt.

BusterGonad · 12/05/2019 10:11

I just wear jeans, tshirt and take a long sleeved jumper tbh. I always pack a lip balm and some generic moisturizer like Nivea soft as I do dry out a bit.

Leggings and jersey dress

Scabetty · 12/05/2019 10:32

Hush harem pants or leggings.

LesLavandes · 12/05/2019 10:36

I wear a nice comfy dress and flat sandals. A pashmina or nice cardigan. Always works for me

LesLavandes · 12/05/2019 10:36

Ps - dress that doesn't crease!

NamelessGem · 12/05/2019 10:37

I wear a print T-shirt (h and m has some great ‘light’ ones) and some loose trousers, with T-shirt half tucked in.

Feels like pyjamas, looks good :)

Long Black Lycra bottoms
Black & white Runners
Long black cardigan
Color vest top
Long scarf to wrap up in for a nap.

Another hush fitted joggers or harem pants wearer with funky t shirt and layer for when they turn the air con too cold 😁

Cool trainers but i always taken them off and put thick socks on for comfort

EatenByDinosaurs · 12/05/2019 12:33

I actually wore one of the infamous squirrel harem jumpsuits from on here with a soft fitted shirt over the top and got upgraded to business class for the first time ever ConfusedGrin

It was so comfortable that its become my go to flight outfit, and I've been upgraded each time since too. Never in a million years when I've read "what to wear to get upgraded" articles would I have imagined that a squirrel suit was the answer! Grin

Jersey maxi dress with leggings underneath that I can take off if necessary, and a jacket or cardi on top. Super comfortable. I hate things that cut in at the waist so find this combo ideal, and maxi dresses always look elegant. It's always nice to have layers you can add or take away for comfort, and jackets/cardis/leggings really help this.

I think the challenge with a flight from the UK to Florida is the climate of the plane versus the climate when you land. I'd want layers. Thin joggers and a loose top under a roomy jumper with sandals in my hand luggage. I shamelessly wear house shoes on long flights. Mine are smart grey things with sherpa lining and a proper show bottom so that I can walk to the loo in them. They are machine washable and sooooo warm on long cold flights.

I wear a loose patterned quarter sleeve dress, which l call my “flying dress”. The random pattern is good if l drop aircraft food down my lap too; easy to do with lack of legroom.

It has no restriction at the waist and I take my bra off before boarding. Blush. Not in the departure lounge!

mimibunz · 12/05/2019 17:33

Maxi dress with a denim jacket or scarf. White sneakers or sandals.

Waterfallgirl · 12/05/2019 18:46

Thanks everyone, I like the idea of the maxi dress with leggings! Harems I look at often but not sure they would suit me. I might order some from hush as everyone raves about them on here.
@dudsville you are right, I am always cold when I fly - I find the air con too much, so thin layers it is!
