Shampoo Bars - recommendations please

I've been using the Lush Honey shampoo bar and really like it, but it's quite expensive with both DH and I using it... I tried the Friendly Soap Natural Shampoo Bar which is a lot cheaper, but didn't like it at all.

Can anyone recommend a good shampoo bar for normal hair that is a bit cheaper than the Lush one? Having not used shampoo from a bottle (or shower gel) for quite a while now, there's no going back, but it would be nice if the more eco-option wasn't quite so pricey!

I'm the same, OP. The Lush ones are ok but still have palm oil in them and are expensive and don't last me that long. I also tried a Friendly Soap one.... quite literally left me with a dry yet waxy haystack on my head that was just horrendous. I'm usually quite patient with this things but earlier this week I caved in and bought a mahoosive bottle of Tresemme and matching conditioner. So I'm back to square one. But with swishy hair again, at least......

Airmid! Comes in various scents (or none) but the lavender one has worked wonders in our house. Dd2 has very fine flyaway hair, much tamer. Dd1 has "chip fat hair" (her words!) and this has really cured the greasiness and made it soft and shiny for 3-4 days. I have itchy dry scalp and alternate with Neem and Rosemary and it's much more comfortable. (I do not work for them or know anyone who does!)

It's baaath time shampoo bars made with goats milk. Smell fab and don't leave hair waxy.

dry yet waxy haystack on my head** - YY, mine too!

Thanks for the suggestions, will test drive a few more - really don't want to go back to bottles...

Had no idea the Lush ones have palm oil...

I'd be interested to find another one too. I don't use shampoo very much as I wash my hair once a week but my sons go through it quickly and within a fortnight the honey lush one is all mushy Sad.

Have you been using an apple cider vinegar conditioner mix to help your scalp get used to shampoo bars? 1 part acv to 4 parts water in a spray bottle. You can also add a few drops of an essential oil if you'd like - I use lavender. Work into scalp and ends and leave for 3 mins. Use once or twice a week. This makes my hair sooo soft and much smoother and less poofy.

Forgot to say you need the acv with "the mother". Available in any supermarket.

I bought one from the local farmers market. Hand made and all organic. Haven’t tried it yet

I recommend Funky Soap

Really good not overly perfumed long lasting shampoo bars.
