If you have sallow looking skin what foundation do you use?

I’m 43 and my face looks tired. I have sallow, slightly olive toned skin and dark circles under my eyes which I’ve always had.

I currently use Estee Lauder’s daywear tinted moisturiser which I love the feel of but I’m not sure if it’s enough. By lunchtime it has vanished along with my blusher and so once again I look sallow and tired.

I don’t need heavy coverage but I just want to look more even, less sallow and more healthy. I use clarins concealer under my eyes which is pretty good but I can still always see the dark tinge coming theough.

The ladies I work with of varying ages seem to have make up that stays put all day but it doesn’t look caked on. How do I achieve this?

Can anyone recommend anything? I do like the Bobbi Brown natural kind of look but I am worried about wasting quite a bit of money if I get it wrong as I know it’s not cheap.

Grateful for any advice.

I'm olde than you but similar skin tone.
This is my go to now

Bobbi Brown are also good for sallow skin but this is more luminous.
I still use BB for corrector and concealer though.

I'm a little younger but have very similar skin to yours. I really rate Clinique even better refresh foundation. Not too dewy, not too matte and can be built up to cover the dark circles under my eyes. Really makes my skin look fab and not made up

And I spray the body shop face mist over the top after I've set with nip and fab banana powder. Stays all day at work and I'm a face touched

I'm similar age and skin tone to you and feel that lighter base is better for me now i.e. tinted moisturiser type thing than full coverage. NARS and Laura Mercier both good.

BillyAndTheSillies · 11/05/2019 08:51

Bobbi Brown seems to always have a yellow base and their foundations and BB Cream are my perfect match. For better coverage, Fenty beauty.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Bobbi Brown sounds like a good option. What is the difference between the BB cream and the foundation?
Do you think they would give me samples of foundation to try?

Also what colour blusher do people use with this colour skin tone? Any bronzer?

clinique even better.

Bourjois foundations tend to be more yellow based. You might find them good for olive skin.

I am pale and sallow. I wear Double Wear and really like it.

Poppysball · 11/05/2019 15:42

Remus is the double wear heavy coverage? My skin is pretty good and clear so I don’t want anything too heavy.

I don't find it heavy. My skin is reasonable and it feels quite light but evens everything out.

Theseptemberissues · 11/05/2019 16:14

NARS are great. I have the sheer glow which is a medium coverage but buildable if I need more.

SallieSallow · 11/05/2019 16:18

I’ve the same skin tone as you (hence the user name!) and am a few years older with oily/combo skin.

I find it hard to get a good match in foundations as a lot of them are too pink for me. I’d been using IT cosmetics CC cream in medium tan for years, it’s fairly heavy coverage but you can thin it out by applying with a damp beauty blender. I wanted to try something with lighter coverage for summer daytime wear and am now using NARS radiant tinted moisturiser in the shade St Moritz. It’s decent coverage for a tinted moisturiser but not too heavy, I think it looks very natural and it lasts well.
