Illness means I can’t wear a bra, help!

Howdy

I have fibromyalgia and can not tolerate any tight clothing. I can’t wear bras anymore, they make my ribs hurt like crazy. In winter it’s not too much of a problem in winter, I usually wear a cotton cami vest under sweatshirts/ jumpers so my nips/ boob jiggle is concealed enough.

But here we are in spring and I can’t go commando in t shirts and such. I’m not massively endowed, probably a 34B ish, but I do need some kind of control solution. I had a bralette but it still made my ribs hurt.

Help!!

could you wear something like these, which would hide your nipple outline? i know it wouldn't help with the jiggle. or maybe you could try a bra like this? it ends higher up than a usual bra. all the best x

If you are a B cup I really think it’s fine to go without. No one in their right mind would judge you. Don’t sacrifice your comfort over jiggly boobs.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 06/05/2019 13:05

If I was a b cup I'd stick a plaster over my nipples and enjoy being braless.

Sloggi zero looks to be light & comfy, unfortunately I'm too big to wear those.

I wear a loose sports bra that's just stretchy jersey material with two small pads in the front. It pulls on over my head. I bought it in large even though I'd normally be medium. I got it in primark. Very comfy and no seams or clips.

Yogagirl123 · 06/05/2019 13:24

Crop top type bra like the sell at Tu Sainsbury’s not usual bra sizes s,m.l, Xl etc around £6, wash well, comfortable just pull them over your head, no hooks, eyes or underwire. I have MS and can’t do up regular bras, I can wear these even when I have MS hug pain.

Popcorntwice · 06/05/2019 13:55

I'm the same bra size and just go bra less all summer. I like wearing strappy cami tops, so I just buy little stick on silicone nipple covers from primark and wear those underneath!

BloomedAgain · 06/05/2019 13:58

I wear the sainsburys cropped tops mentioned but a size up so it's looseish but still does something.

imsorryiasked · 06/05/2019 13:59

I'd get a cotton mix vest (e.g. primark) in a size smaller than usual. They are clingy rather than tight and should give you some support.

I've got a Sloggi Zero and it's super comfy. I have ms and sometimes can't tolerate a bra but need something to dip my headlights!

teta · 06/05/2019 15:42

Yes, sloggi zero are brilliant and comfy with no rough edges or tightness .

Queenbetty · 06/05/2019 15:47

Sorry for the weird link

Mrsjayy · 06/05/2019 15:52

I have fibro too and the band of pain is horrendous I wear supportive vest top if it is really bad a couple of quid in primark.

Mrsjayy · 06/05/2019 15:55

I saw some bratops in Matalan the otherweek i was going to buy a couple but didn't have the energy to try it on.

Hearhere · 06/05/2019 21:56

Lurking for bra recommendations
I have had slogans in the past, very comfy 😇

Auldspinster · 06/05/2019 21:57

What about a secret support vest from m&s?
