Where do your teens shop for clothes?

Random question 😁

My dd is 13 but really tall so is in adult clothes, dd has autism and isn’t very verbal, she’s not really into fashion and would happily live in jogging bottoms, taking her shopping can be a bit of a nightmare (too busy and boring). She needs some summer clothes, mainly tops, maybe a jacket. She has plenty of hoodies and jogging bottoms. What shops do your teens like to shop in?

New look, primary, top shop, H&M, miss selfridge plus there's a couple of quirky independents here as they both like non mainstream as well. Dd1 has asd and prefers jersey dresses and leggings (as do I!) rather than the city centre we shop at a retail park mid week

Lovemusic33 · 04/05/2019 11:39

Thank you stucknouse , she has been reading the emp catalogue all week (her sister likes emp) but when I ask her if there’s anything she likes in there’s she say ‘I don’t know’. Jersey dresses are a good idea, she mainly wears leggings and joggin bottoms but she looks scruffy in joggers and they don’t fit well as she’s so tall and slim. Might take her to primark on Monday and newlook which is almost next door.

Mine are obsessed with Monki.

DesperadoDan · 04/05/2019 11:42

DD is now 23 but hasn’t changed her shopping habits, it’s Topshop, Primark for undies, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch and believe it or not Marks & Spencer’s. She brought a beautiful lacy dress in there last week.

Pinkruler · 04/05/2019 11:42

Urban outfitters, New Look. Top Shop, Hollister , h and m. Mine also have a lot of hoodies and jogging bottoms.

cheercaptain · 04/05/2019 11:49

My niece age 14/15 gets her tops from Next (online and next day delivery in store as her size is never available in their local store).

Canshopwillshop · 04/05/2019 11:51

Top Shop, Primark and Pretty Little Thing (online).

1 dd lives in jeans t shirts and hoodies the other prefers dresses

Lovemusic33 · 04/05/2019 12:05

Thank you, I will have a look at some of these online and see if she can choose anything. We usually shop on next online but even though the kids clothes go up to 16 the tops are too short on her (she’s very long), bottoms are ok.

She has a couple pairs of superdry joggers which she lives in, same with hoodie, it’s mainly tops she needs (overrun with hoodies).

OP you have described my situation exactly. DD is nearly 15 and barely interested. Lives in joggers and hoodies. We usually decide together what type of clothing she's looking for and I do a forward scout to see what's in stock and where. One or two shops and she's run out of steam and completely lost interest. I'm on a budget so last trip was Primark and H&M, successfully found some straight cut jeans and long-sleeved tops/shirts she actually chose herself. Oh and no dresses, skirts or shorts. She wore long trousers all through last summer...

mysteryfairy · 04/05/2019 12:38

Urban outfitters not getting any mentions

TheCanterburyWhales · 04/05/2019 12:50

Primark, Abercrombie sometimes.
But 90% of her wardrobe is H&M and Zara.
Could not believe how Top Shop's prices had rocketed last time I ventured in one. That much for throwaway teen fashion? Having a laugh.

teta · 04/05/2019 12:55

Dd 2 - Asos, Hollister, Urban Outfitters.
Ds1&2 - Hollister & H&M.

jewel1968 · 04/05/2019 12:58

My DD is not very interested in fashion and is very slightly built. She likes simple stuff. Uniqlo suits her perfectly...

Bloodymary · 04/05/2019 13:15

My DD loves most of the above; plus BRANDY MELVILLE which I don't believe has had a mention yet.

beenhereages1 · 04/05/2019 14:01

ASOS - online so no hassle and returns are really easy. 99% of DS's clothes come from there!

Lovemusic33 · 04/05/2019 15:12

We went into town and didn’t come home with much, one pair of shorts and a few t shirts from newlook and H&M. Will look at all the above online, shopping was way too stressful with 2 autistic teens.
