Very slim tall teen, where can I buy jeans that are long enough ?

My DD 15 is very slim 6/8 and tall (174 cm) It's really hard finding clothes to fit. She is naturally this shape ( she eats loads ). She really needs new jeans. The problem is if they are a good fit round her hips and bum they finish halfway up her shins. Luckily this length has been quirkily fashionable for the last few years but she wants mum jeans which are the proper length. Is the only solution to buy Levi's or some other super expensive brand that comes in a variety of fits and lengths ? Absolutely nothing in the cheaper shops seems to fit. Anyone got any ideas ?

My dd is 170cm and wears a 32 or 34 leg which is available at New Look. Does your dd need longer?

gubbsywubbsy · 02/05/2019 17:17

Topshop do 34 leg as do a lot of shops now .. pretty sure Primark do.. I have a similar size 15 year old and I never have an issue .

tenredthings · 02/05/2019 17:20

Thanks folks. We live outside the uk where everyone seems to be tiny ! These all sound good. I think she needs at least 32" leg, maybe 34. Do any of these sell online ?

She’s about my size. On the high street I have jeans from topshop and Zara and I think both should have the style she’s after. I also have Levi’s and in the sale they’re often cheaper than Topshop so keep an eye out.

Highheels1 · 02/05/2019 17:28

I’m 175cm and always rely on Topshop Tall range - they are 36L and plenty long enough on me and also crucially long enough to wear with heels (which you can probably guess from my username is usually a requirement!)

I feel your pain though; buying trousers is an absolute nightmare!

Gwynfluff · 02/05/2019 17:30

I’m 173cm. Zara are just ok (years ago they were really long in Zara but I think they’ve adjusted things as they’ve expanded). H&M are just ok too. But in both cases if you wash them they can shrink and be too short. So topshop would be safest.

Asos 👍

gubbsywubbsy · 02/05/2019 17:38

Topshop sell online outside the uk ..

weekfour · 02/05/2019 17:56

Max Mara / Weekend trousers/denim is unfinished.

I'm very tall and whilst they're very expensive it's such a nice feeling to actually have to turn stuff up. I can remember crying as a teenager and shopping in the men's section.

I still struggle now. That long tall body of mine doesn't curve so I suffer from everything having a baggy arse or strange hip flaps.

tenredthings · 02/05/2019 19:50

Thanks , great suggestions here. Good to hear there are solutions out there. She's Looking at Topshop online right now ! I'm also looking to find a make of sandals for a narrow foot that don't look too childish with adjustable strap, if anyone has similar slender feet !

ASOS tall which I think are 36" leg or they do stock other Jean's with 34" leg

HostessTrolley · 03/05/2019 08:32

My d is size 6 and 34” leg, as others have said, top shop or new look are good. However she loves Levi’s as they wash and last better than the other brands. She’s registered with unidays who do discount codes for students (she’s at a school sixth form and had no problems registering so it’s not just for university age) - their discounts change all the time, she just got Levi’s (for most of the family!) at 40% off. She’s also bought new with tags Levi’s on eBay, being a ‘nonstandard’ size can often kick up more bargains than popular sizes.

tenredthings · 03/05/2019 08:36

Thanks for the Levi's promo tip . I was also thinking that maybe being not the most usual size could mean more sales items and Levi's do wear well.

I’m 178cm and size 8 - Topshop does small waists and long legs and will be around £40 for jeans, they definitely have ‘mum’ jeans. I think they are decent quality for the price. I also like Dr Denim jeans and they do longer leg lengths too. Levi’s are better quality and definitely worth looking out for sales. All available online!

Synecdoche · 03/05/2019 10:43

Next tall are also good for me and I'm 178cm tall.

tenredthings · 03/05/2019 13:17

The uk high street seems so well equipped for tall women. I think DD and I are going to need to do a Uk visit for a wardrobe stock up. I'm a reluctant shopper but DD will Love this, especially if she can find clothes that actually fit !

Has she tried H&M? They do a 34 inch length and go down to a 24 inch waist.

dontgobaconmyheart · 03/05/2019 14:13

I came to suggest Topshop, 32 is a regular length anyway and 34 the standard long so she shouldn't have too much trouble really. Topshop is easiest as their denim fits by the waist and leg length so you just pick your sizes in the style you like and they do most of them. New look also do a lot of denim and do a 34 leg and size 4 or 6, as do Primark, and I think Zara, who cut everything small regardless, and h&m.

I think next cut their denim quite generously as do m&s so if she went there you may find he smallest sizes come up too large if she is very slim. I definitely find this to be the case.

donajimena · 03/05/2019 14:21

Next do extra long. They don't usually have them instore though so you have to order online

rainydogday · 03/05/2019 17:22

Marking place to read as DD has same problem. Stretchy belt helps...

chipsandgin · 03/05/2019 17:30

I’m 6’ & have cheaper 34” leg jeans from Next, H&M, Gap, River Island, ASOS, Primark & Cheap Monday. The H&M ones are the best & they sell online worldwide - sadly that’s the only ‘tall’ thing they do! I’ve had ASOS deliver outside the UK & their tall range is brilliant.

FreeFreesia · 03/05/2019 17:45

H&M - designed for the Swedish population Wink
