I don’t know how to dress for my weight

I’ve gradually crept up and up and now I am a size 18.

I find tips a bit too short for comfort and my big boobs don’t flatter many styles.

I’ve got a garden party affair (not too fancy) in a few weeks.

What styles will suit me?

What's your body shape?

LaganOnABubble · 01/05/2019 19:02

Five deer four, jowly, heavy arms and waist

I remember growing up watching gok wan and he always said the secret was to try and create an hourglass silhouette :)

I think at 5ft 4, anything that falls below the knee skirt wise can make you looks smaller so maybe a skirt that hits on or just below the knee...a high waisted one perhaps to help hold in the tummy (or you could always get yourself some spanks). A statement belt (another gok wan biggy) at the waste to sinch things in (if you have a bit of a belly, sit it above that). And if you have heavy arms, a loose fitting cardy, perhaps a mid-length sleeve one? Wrap dresses are really nice with bigger boobs and drawing attention to your assets as will help detract it from problem areas.

Correction
*a skirt that falls on or just above the knee

I'm a bit shorter and size 18. I have no waist so belts are terrible on me. If you are bigger on the waist I'd say to avoid structured belts.
I like v necks or scoop necks, anything quite open and find 3/4 length sleeves flattering.

Five deer four? Confused

EleanorLavish · 01/05/2019 19:23

Five feet four I take it?

Lagan try this body shape calculator first. It will give you an idea of your shape, and what does/doesn't suit you.
Have a look at yourself in the mirror before you do it.

Could you not face 5:2 diet for a month? It would give you the opportunity of fitting back into things you have and like.

This article is great.

Has some lovely suggestions. I particularly like the three piece pant suit
