I'm trying to find the right bra for me after another round of pregnancy weight gain/loss, breastfeeding etc.
I'm currently in a Cleo Marcie in 30G. It's not ideal, as the wires are digging under my arms (this is a new development after wearing them for two years). The cup is definitely a size too big, so I think that's where the digging is from - I tried the 32G I also own, and it did exactly the same, so not too small.

I basically have spaniels ears, no fullness, narrow root, fairly front and centre (I never have any need to scoop).

I'm looking at the Bravissimo sale, and there are loads to choose from, but I just don't know where to start!

I'd be so grateful for some guidance

Have you measured yourself using the boob or bust method?

I went from wearing a 34b that was super uncomfortable to wearing a 32F which is ridiculously comfortable!

isabellerossignol · 28/04/2019 20:17

Cleo is made by Panache and both brands have wires that come up quite high under the arms, so if you find Cleo uncomfortable I'd avoid Panache as well. And Fantasie for that matter.

Have you ever tried Freya or Curvy Kate? I find both of those quite comfortable, whereas I can't wear Panache or Cleo. Have also had good bras from Debenhams own brand range.

RockCrushesLizard · 28/04/2019 20:28

I've always got on really well with Cleo and Panache in the past - I find Fantasie, Curvy Kate and Frey generally too wide in the cup, so the wire goes too far back into my underarm.
I'm a bit baffled why this is suddenly happening! My panache sports bra is still the comfiest thing in the world.

In that case I'm all out of suggestions!

I love the shape of Panache bras, they are a great shape on me. Unfortunately they are agonisingly uncomfortable. Sad

Bras are mystifying!

As Cleo bras go the Marcie is one of the wider ones.

I'm wondering however if you've had a bit of a post breastfeeding shape change - you mention never having needed to scoop but have you tried? I found that post BF I seem to have more tissue at the sides than I used to. It might make its way forward again eventually but at the moment its definitely different.

Do you have a Bravissimo close by? If so it would be worth going in and just trying tonnes of different cuts

Branleuse · 29/04/2019 08:37

get yourself a Molke. Id go for a small cosmic or a small super

Innernutshell · 29/04/2019 09:26

Are Molke like Playtex 'Doreen' Bran in that they squish you together?

RockCrushesLizard · 29/04/2019 10:13

I've definitely changed shape - everything is much less firm, and prone to flopping around in the cups. I tend to find that I end up with a kind of hollow effect on the top, like a ski slope.
I have tried scooping at the weekend, in case that's why I was sore, but there wasn't anything much.

I'm trying to avoid having to go to a shop, because I'd have to sort childcare and travel for an hour. But it may come to that!
My current plan is to order dozens and return most of them

Thank you for the Molke suggestion - I have their bras for home/sleep, but I prefer something to give me more shape when I'm out and about.

As a fellow spaniels ear type, I recommend the Panache Tango II. And ordering lots of different sizes (back and cup) and see how they feel.

I've been everything from a 30F to a 38G and that works for me across the sizes, as long as the size is right!

Branleuse · 29/04/2019 17:11

my favourite most comfortable wired bra, is probably gossard glossies, but I also really like freya deco if the glossies one is too flimsy.

MIdgebabe · 29/04/2019 17:16

Comfort, molke. If you use one for sleep it’s probbaly a very soft one, level 1 , a level 3 gives more shape/support?

Molke does not squish me together, it’s a cross over shape

RockCrushesLizard · 29/04/2019 20:21

I'd forgotten about the Tango! I used to wear them a lot before I moved on to Cleos...
