Curly girl for wavy curls and not much time

I have finally realised that trying to force my hair to be straight is a losing battle and I’m better off accepting it as wavy/curly and trying to get it in good condition as it is.
I’ve switched to a ‘curly girl approved’ shampoo and conditioner but everything I have read online seems to be about long winded drying processes and I don’t have time for an hour with a diffuser every time I wash. What do people with children do?? It can’t all be for young trendy people with no responsibilities and nothing to do with their mornings that preen... does anyone have any tips for curly hair and 15 minutes tops?

I'm a curly girl and totally get your problem. I find it much easier in the summer tbh.

My routine is co-wash, put in product (Boots curl cream) and then wrap it up in a t-shirt (plopping) while I get dressed and put my makeup on.

I then spend about 5 mins max with a diffuser to take off the worst wet and let it air dry the rest of the way.

I have a silk pillowcase and find this helps loads - I don't need to wash my hair nearly as often - I wash it twice a week.

I do curly girl. On non-wash mornings I spray with a water bottle then blast with a diffuser. Takes about ten minutes

I usually wash on the weekend or when I'm working from home. I plop while I put my makeup on, then diffuse the roots for 5 mins for some volume then air dry.

Other days I refresh following the Marissa curls refresh routine which takes 5-10 minutes (the routine is in her highlights on insta). If I have to wash it on a day I'm in the office I let it dry in the car air driers.

If it's not looking good and I can't save it with a refresh or don't have the time or inclination to refresh I go for a messy side bun.

Co wash everyday with conditioner. Pantene no 3 mousse. Comb through and leave to dry naturally. Takes a good few hours though so if I have to be somewhere I blast with hairdryer and tie up.

It's not the curly girl method, but I find if I just wash/ condition normally, then brush through and leave on a small (2nd) amount of conditioner and leave to dry, I get nice curls.

Thank you all. I still seem to be more frizzy than nice wavy clumps, but I’m going to persevere until I’ve used up the bottles of shampoo and conditioner I’ve got before I give up. I’ll give a diffuser a go and see if that makes a difference.

No advice to offer op , but I felt the same as you when trying cg. I had a short bob cut and now blow dry my hair straight with a hot air brush.

I found the Co wash silicone free stuff made my hair really tangly and dry. I tried it for about 8 weeks but it just got worse and worse. I know that is the 'real' condition of my hair, without silicone coating it, but it was like having a brillo pad on my head and completely unmanageable.

I've given up.

Also op , just to add. I did gain something from reading about and using cg methods and products. I have thrown my beloved straighteners away , I still use hot air but only on the lowest setting , I use cg approved shampoo 50% of the time and always a cg conditioner and I also make time for a trim every 8 weeks. Basically , I have better hair habits and nice healthy hair due to trying cg for 6 months.
