Quite fine curly hair, sometimes falls into lively ringlets, often the front is nice and the back a wiry fuzz. I’ve bought a tangle teezer which helps a bit. Have Childs farm anti tangle spray, which kind of helps, but am not sure it’s doing any good longer term.

Her hair hasn’t finished growing in yet, but I think it will continue curly, although am prepared to be wrong. I’ve tried googling and it just muddles me.

What about Curly Ellie? Hear only good things on Instagram x

lottieleo · 25/04/2019 22:47

Yes check curly Ellie out lots of their pics have been used on wavey or fine hair
Opposed to some other curly hair products which can be a bit heavier.
We use mixed chick kids range or cantu but my dd has thick curls.

Don't be putting loads of products on your
The best thing to do is wash or wet it every day and tie it back into braids/plaits while wet. That's the best way to keep it under control.

My hair is naturally curly. I wet it every morning and scrunch it up, then let it dry naturally. I use boots essentials curl cream. It's the best product for curly hair, but I don't really agree with putting loads of products on such a young child's hair. They get mucky enough as it is without all of that!

Run some coconut oil through it when it's damp and then let it air-dry. It will be lovely!

Curly Ellie works a treat on my 5 year old and on my 3 year old niece.

RomanyQueen1 · 25/04/2019 23:16

I use baby shampoo, recommended by a top specialist Grin
It's cheap and curly girl approved.

WitBeyondMeasure · 26/04/2019 00:09

I have no advice but I am following with interest! My daughters hair is exactly the same and no matter what I do with it, five minutes later it looks like she has been dragged through a hedge backwards

Great help thank you :) I guess I need to get Instagram.

The best thing to do is wash or wet it every day and tie it back into braids/plaits while wet.
She asked for plaits the other day. I think she was envisaging Elsa. What she got were about an inch and a half long and an eighth inch thick 😂
There was a tantrum. And another one when I tried to undo what had become long knots.

I think coconut oil might be too heavy, but I have got a jar so might try. It seems to be very slow growing, as I say I think there’s about as much again to grow in, I don’t know if ots what would be called baby hair.

I use oil when wet, diffuser go help dry
And in mornings I use detangle spray and oil again
Some washes I just use conditioner

But also following this to see if there are other things

Stokey · 26/04/2019 11:56

I've just bought Palmer's leave in coconut oil detangling conditioner for my curly 7 year old.

My hairdresser's advice is only brush when wet and tie it in a loose bun or loose plaits at night. Dd2 is not much of a fan of having it tied at night but when we have, it is definitely less dreadlocked in the morning.

pinklemonade84 · 28/04/2019 22:47

definitely recommend Curly Ellie, it's the only thing that seems to work on my little girl

tonight we did shampoo, followed by the mask. Then, after scrunching her hair dry, I brushed through some detangling spray and then scrunched in some serum and finger combed it through

her hair was still slightly wet in this picture, but she conked out and fell asleep before I could see the dry results, but I'm really happy with it so far
