I'm a UK 4, does anyone know what size I would be in children's trainers? The ones I'm looking at go upto a kids 5.5. Do I get a 4 or do kids 4s come up littler thsn adild 4s? Any insight appreciated... Trying to save myself a ton of money on some Stan Smiths 😂 👍🏻
TIA x

I have always just bought my normal size in children's shoes, I haven't found they differ

Lydia55y · 25/04/2019 09:12

I think they are narrower. I’m a 4.5 and wear a 5.5 in kids trainers.

I'm a 4. Often get a kids 4 too.
Haven't noticed a difference in size just that any 'features/finishing /design details look smaller on a lot of shoes and trainers ( if that makes senseGrin)

Same, usually. You could double check with the EU size equivalent (if they give that); UK 4 = 37.

There was a line in an old Victoria Wood sketch about a smaller-footed woman who "bought children's shoes, spent the VAT on tequila" :)

I wear them a lot

Just don't get within a whisker of buying Lelli Kelli like I almost did a couple of years ago. Grin (moment of madness)

I'm a 5, they're all the same. I always buy children's trainers and Ugg boots, so much cheaper.

I fall before a 3 and a 4. I bought a pair of Stan Smiths a couple of weeks ago. The 4 was a bit big, 3 a bit tight, but the 3.5 were perfect, so if you're a true 4, then the kids 4 should be absolutely fine.

The kids ones were £45. The adults ones are £75! They looks exactly the same.

These are the ones I got:

All the time! 😀

I am a 4.5 and usually go for a 5, but I have really wide feet.

user1494055864 · 25/04/2019 10:41

I'm a 5, I just bought junior superstars, and they are fine, although I find superstars are quite long in the foot anyway. I also have ladies superstars and they fit the same.
I bought several junior Nike airs in a 5 and they pinched my toes, whereas the ladies 5 Nike airs fit fine, so it depends on the shoe.

FluffySocks123 · 25/04/2019 10:42

I'm a 4 - I always buy the kids trainers ..... I normally buy a 4 - only converse do I buy a 4.5 in their leather style as they come up slightly smaller

WatchingTheWheels85 · 25/04/2019 12:10

I'm a 3 and always buy children's shoes.

EmpressJewel · 25/04/2019 12:53

I'm a 3 and have always bought a 3.

Children's shoes do sometimes come up narrower though - I haven't found it to be a problem, but it is for my mum, who is also a 3.

A tip I heard was to look at the boys trainers rather than girls as they are a bit wider (I don't know if it's true, but it's with a shot)

Thanks for the replies. I think to be safe I'll size up one size....
