Breast Implants

Hi everyone!

So I'm 29 and have been saving for years to have breast implants. I'm around a 30A or 30B depending on the brand and I'm very tall with a slim build. I finally have the money together and am starting the serious research and process. If it makes a difference to any advice given, I'm from the Glasgow area but would look at Edinburgh as well.

I have 2 initial consultations booked with two different clinics next week and hope to book in some more over the next few weeks. Hoping to have the surgery done in September as I have time off work booked. I'm collating a list of my questions to print out and take with me to each clinic so I can compare information and responses.

Questions I have for those who have had the procedure done:

  • How many different clinics did you visit?
  • Was it easy to choose a clinic? I know many of the initial appointments are essentially sales advisors. Was it an obvious and easy decision to choose a clinic?
  • How far in advance were you able to book?
  • The advice seems to be 1-2 weeks off work. How much time did you feel was enough?
  • What do you wish you'd asked or known that you didn't think about at the time?

Recommendations about clinics in the Central Scotland area would also be very welcome. The two people I know who have had it done used different clinics and both had great results and experiences.

I was a 32aa cup then a 32a cup but after having children I became a c cup.

My children are now adults and I’m slightly bigger than in my youth and am a 34c, which I’ve bwen for the last 24 years.

Just warning you that if you have children they may well naturally become bigger.

That worked out lucky!

Myself and my long term partner aren't looking to have children. People will say we'll change our minds and, whilst I accept that's a possibility, I'm 99% sure that I don't want any.

My weight only fluctuates naturally by half a stone here and there (winter carbs, probably) and it never goes to my boobs, unfortunately!

They need replacing approximately every 10 years. Mine has moved and looks appalling, am saving up to get it resolved

I had breast implants about 15 years ago, they look almost the same as they did when they were first done. It takes about 6-8 months for them to settle, prior to that they looked a little too upright! When I woke up post-op I felt like someone was sat on my chest, I was very sore for a week and i wore a sports bra for a while afterwards night and day, they will advise on how long you should wear one, it keeps everything where it should be. I was off work 10 days and it was painful to lift my arms, I couldn't lift anything.

I was thin, naturally very flat chested with quite broad shoulders. I've been told my implants look natural but i think they're a little big now, probably due to weight gain. I was in my early 30s when they were done and I'm now in my late 40s. I don't think mine need replacing but i know several people who have had to either remove the implants or replace them. They're difficult to dress, it's much easier being flat chested but occasionally outfits look better with a bit more shape. They're much firmer than natural breasts, i have a gap between mine that means I don't tend to wear anything low cut, I don't think I have an attractive cleavage, even with a decent bra but I can go braless!

If I could go back and change anything i would go smaller but I would still get them, I hated being flat chested.
