Plus size Jeans that stay up and don't loose their shape

Please help me find some jeans. I haven't found a pair of jeans I can wear since I had my first DC 7years a go! They either seem to finish on my hips and create muffin top (where the next size up just fall down as I walk) or they stretch out too much as I wear them through the day and look like a sack of spuds after a couple of hours.

I'm now plus size (24 in places like Evans and 26-28 in less vanity sized shops). I'm a pear and carry most of my weight on my hips, bum and thighs.

Surely there are some jeans out there that will sit above my hips and not stretch massively after a few hours wear?

Primark the shape jeans are ace

sonjadog · 19/04/2019 18:39

I find Levis plus size jeans really good. Good quality and fit.

MrsElbadrama · 20/04/2019 23:14

Levi Plus Super Skinny are brilliant

MillyMollyMandie · 20/04/2019 23:16

Marks and Spencer’s curvy are good.

ICantEvenThinkStraight · 20/04/2019 23:22

Only Carmakoma curvy are really good.

HostessTrolley · 21/04/2019 00:12

Another vote for Levi’s - if you know anyone who’s a student they’re currently offering 40% off via unidays

Don’t go baggy, don’t dig in, and wash great

MotherofTerriers · 21/04/2019 00:13

If you can afford it, Universal Standard are really excellent.

ecuse · 21/04/2019 00:39

Jesus Christ, Clarabelle. Way to randomly be a dick to someone on the internet.

KneelJustKneel · 21/04/2019 00:40

Clarabelle how do you think that helps?

I suspect the Op is aware of her size. Ive battled with mine for years, its a struggle. But even with A Plan I still need jeans that fot right now unless you want us to go naked for a few years while we lose the weight??

magicstar1 · 21/04/2019 00:51

Try yoursclothing.co.uk
I get mine from here and they’re great

Clarabelle, must suck to be you day in day out with that approach. I feel sorry for those around you.

Jeans - if you can afford to order a few sizes in e.g. ASOS Curve, Simply Be or Navabi ranges I'd bet you'd find a perfect fit and fabric and when you do, order two pairs if you can to avoid the dreaded 'discontinued' stock check.

englishdictionary · 21/04/2019 08:51

I literally wrote a longish post about jeans and it's been deleted Sad

Could Mumsnet not have just deleted the quote?

Anyway short version was try ASDA online they have bigger sizes than in store. Primark wont have the sizes, Levi's only go to a 24 and there sizing is not generous.

Sorry I can't remember the rest of post I wrote last night 🙄

Marks and Spencer's worth a try

DonDadaOnTheDownLow · 21/04/2019 08:59

I find Curvissa are excellent. Every time I order from them I berate myself because it seems so expensive compared to e.g., supermarkets/primark/wherever - but then the stuff arrives and it's always good quality. No wonky seams, washes well, blah blah - lasts me years tbh. I'm very hippy, arsey (in all ways :D ) with a comparatively small waist - and I find their jeans fit me well with no giant gaping waist and go all the way up. Even their vest tops are really good - and yes, I know you can get them for £1.50 in primark - but they're wafer thin. Only dodgy thing I ever bought for them was a jumper which was insanely too big so I sent it back.

Yeah why do people do this?? Do they think themselves really superior??!!

Fstar · 21/04/2019 21:45

I say this a lot but asda are bloody brilliant for clothes, the jegging with elasticated wait are on 12.50 and i size down in those. Also not jeans but m and s cotton rich trousers are briliant and only 15 quid

JeansJeansJeans · 22/04/2019 09:27

Thanks all. Will start ordering various to try on.

I'm glad I didn't see Clara's post but perhaps she should consider that life doesn't always go to plan. I was really thin prior to pregnancy although I've always had comparatively wide hips and thighs for my size. Like many women I gained some weight after my first pregnancy and was living with a severely abusive husband which drove me to chocolate - I gained more weight (the man mentally destroyed me - I existed not lived). My second pregnancy caused an autoimmune disorder that caused my body to attack my own nerves which put me in a wheelchair. I then spent years on prescription steroids whilst being rehabilitated. I have battled severe depression and had to slowly rebuild my self esteem and become the person I was before I my abusive ex. I am finally (4.5 years after being put in a wheelchair) mostly ok. I will never regain full strength in the muscles controlled by the nerves my body attacked but I can (and do) walk a couple of miles with my dogs most days (bad days the walks have to be shorter). I do yoga lots and swim when I can. I am loosing weight but as another poster said, even with that I need clothes that fit now I can't be naked for the next 2 years whilst I get my weight down!

You don't need to justify the size of your thighs... and if Clara comes back we'll eat her.

FenellaMaxwell · 22/04/2019 19:20

The M&S jeggings are great, and the simply be Lucy jeans.

Mademybed123 · 24/04/2019 19:59

I'm a size 22/24 and wear Sainsbury stretch skinny jeans. They fitted when I was bigger and I really like them. Worth a try?
