I had my hair bleached yesterday - hairdresser used Wella 10/6 (and maybe 10/81) but I feel it's too yellow. I feel like the lovechild of Draco Malfoy and the real Slim Shady.

Is there a toner I can have put on now that would change the colour to more like the second photo?

I think you need a toner with a purple base. Have you tried some purple shampoo?

NoBaggyPants · 16/04/2019 09:27

Look at the L'Oréal Dialight range. You'll need a developer too.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 16/04/2019 09:28

Yes, you need purple - you could try a silver shampoo (eg. Bleach London - they do a Pearlescent one that is nice now as well) or if you want something that will last a bit longer the Loreal dialight toners/semi permanent dyes are really good. Have a look online to research but 9.02 is quite good, I have used it before.

I don't think what you have is too yellow by the way, unless it's the lighting. I think it looks like a nice blonde Smile

Wherearemyminions · 16/04/2019 09:29

Bleach London smoky shampoo and conditioner, leave the shampoo on for 5 minutes or so

Lifeaback · 16/04/2019 09:35

The bleach London silver shampoo will work miracles for this. Leave on for 5/10 minutes and use it every other wash to maintain

ChipInTheSugar · 16/04/2019 09:43

Fab - thank you so much!! Hopefully it will be sorted before the Easter holidays finish Grin

My DD thinks it looks ok and she would definitely say if it didn't, but I'm still not sure about the colour against my skin tone. I'll buy and try that shampoo and report back Smile

Bleach London smoky shampoo and conditioner works well on my hair. The normal Bleach London one doesn't though for some reason.

ChipInTheSugar · 16/04/2019 10:06

Here's another pic of what it's like just for info. Straight down to Superdrug now!

What about asking the hairdresser to bleach it again? Did you show them a photograph of the colour that you were aiming for? I have to get mine bleached twice to get light enough.

TaxiPlease · 16/04/2019 12:07

The toner you want is Wella Illumina 10/69 + 1.9% Color Touch Emulsion (1:2) which should give you the colour above, last longer and work out a lot cheaper over time than expensive conditioners.

Bleach London Silver or Fudge purple shampoo. Leave it on for five minutes then rinse and dry to asses the result. Don't leave it on too long as freshly bleached hair is so porous it will take it quickly and you'll end up with the purple rinse look.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 16/04/2019 15:21

@NoMoreBump how did you get from 1 to 2?

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 16/04/2019 15:25

I'd go back to the salon if you'd asked for the colour in the second picture and ask them to do it.

My hairdresser tones mine when she bleaches it - then i maintain with purple shampoo and conditioner.

ChipInTheSugar · 16/04/2019 15:29

The second pic is one that I've just found - but googling Wella 10/6 does not bring up the colour that my hair has gone!

I'm trying the purple shampoo, and I've rebooked with the hairdresser for next week 👍🏼

oh ok, fair enough. The shampoo definitely helps, but i find the 'real' toner they use at the salon has a better and longer lasting effect.

We have v similar hair Grin

NoMoreBump · 16/04/2019 16:59

Life in it was a 'colour b4' but it brought up the blue I used to have.

ChipInTheSugar · 16/04/2019 17:01

Really? Let me see ...?

Superdrug Colour freedom metallic glory in silver blonde should sort it

milkysmum · 16/04/2019 17:17

Fudge purple shampoo. But leave it in for like at least 30/ 40 mins. Not the 10 mins in says.

rainbowlou · 16/04/2019 17:20

Bleach London white toner is brilliant stuff 👍🏻

iamH · 16/04/2019 18:58

@NoMoreBump I need you to talk me through that transformation please.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 16/04/2019 19:01

@NoMoreBump yes I'm another who would like to know the details of that transformation Smile

Is that a pink in the last picture or is it just the light?

clandestinenetwork · 16/04/2019 19:15

Fudge purple shampoo. But leave it in for like at least 30/ 40 mins. Not the 10 mins in says.

^ Please, please do NOT do this.

Your newly bleached hair will be really, really porous and will 'take' any toner quickly. If you leave any purple shampoo on for too long, you will end up with actual purple hair.

You need to build up the time gradually once you have established how your hair reacts to it. It may be that, after a few washes, you do need to leave the shampoo / toner on for longer. But for fucks sake don't leave it on for 40 minutes the first time you use it.

And the Fudge shampoo is really, really excellent at neutralising yellow tones but beware it stains hands and wood etc in your bathroom. It can be wiped off tiles, however.

clandestinenetwork · 16/04/2019 19:17

Oh FFS, format fail in my last post. But you get my drift.
